AirFrance leads the way, charging $150 SFO-CDG (Paris) outbound, and 150 *Euros* (about $210) return. That from an airline headquartered in one of the world's more bike-friendly countries. $80-$100 each way is rapidly becoming the norm, although as of last July, United was still allowing a bike as a piece of checked luggage, providing it met the weight requirement (50 pounds total, including packaging). This may have changed by now; hard to believe an airline would overlook an opportunity for revenue enhancement these days! --Mike Jacoubowsky Chain Reaction Bicycles www.ChainReaction.com Redwood City & Los Altos, CA USA
