I am curious if it's a total piece of crap? As I would like a cheap
road bike that will get me around, but I want it to work. ;)

Absolutely. Today's trawl through my local Craigslist would have
gotten one a classic Centurion with upgraded components, floor pump,
Kryptonite lock, and spd pedals for that same price. Not considering
that haggling would get you even lower.

It's very low end.

Last year at a garage sale I had, someone came by riding one of these
bikes. He had already had to replace some broken components, IIRC it was
the crankset. It's all the lowest end components.

I'd much rather buy a good used road bike for $200 than spend $200 on
that bike.
