Does anybody make a knapsack _frame pack_ for a laptop (15")?

The frame pack is needed to keep airflow over my back.

Sometimes I have to carry the thing to a restaurant where there is
high speed internet, say when Microsoft upgrades IE7.0 again with
one of their massive cumulative updates, and dialup takes too long
given that I go by the place every day anyway.

On the internet, nobody knows you're a jerk.

I haven't seen one in ages. I bought one back in 1985, it came from
Switzerland I believe. It was great, as you didn't get your back all wet
with sweat while hiking. I think you can probably still get such a pack
in Switzerland, but not here.

Could you use the frame pack you probably already have, and one of these
computer adjustable packs to protect the laptop?

(I use this pack in conjunction with regular panniers.)

I carry my Laptop to work daily in a laptop sleeve which I put in a
pannier with a few other miscellaneous items (spare tube, rain jacket,
spare gloves, first aid kit). The other pannier holds my office clothes,
shoes, lunch. etc.
