How many cases of PBR can it haul out of the box? http://commutebybike.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/img_5342.jpg However, having once hauled a case of aquavit bottles similarly topside, I'd say such transport would require a steely grit!

Pabst is now only a brand name with the beer produced by Miller under contract, with the old brewery being partly demolished, with the remainder being converted into shops, office space and housing. -- Tom Sherman - Holstein-Friesland Bovinia Tradition is the worst rational for action.

Love the color as well--it's a typical northern European primary color, remember how Volvos used to be that shade in the 70s? Will the Ute find a niche in the States? Outside a few big cities, nope. But, as Kona sells a shitload of bikes in Europe, and the Ute not being that radical compared to the long tradition of working bikes overseas, it'll hopefully stay around long enough for me to buy one. ;-)

Two skinny sloping top tubes to the rear drops would have looked classy cool, but it's still not bad looking--especially when you consider the spec for the MSRP.

Taking it deer hunting? Cool! That's what I wanna see, a dead buck on the back of a Ute, with rifle neatly stored by the mixte tubes. A Ute might be my next ride, not that I really need one, but I figger it's a cyclist's Escalade. I like the idea of going cruising with one on Friday night with a sound system in back--playing Robert Goulet tunes (RIP, my moustached hero!)

A two-four looks like it would be a tight fit. You might have to leave the cardboard behind. I'm not certain the design qualifies as true mixte as it lacks a third seat stay. The twin tubes abut the top tube just ahead of the seat tube. The attachment point for the normal seat stays is instead used to form the top rails of the rack. Nevertheless, the Ute is an interesting option in an expanding range of practical bikes making their way to market. -- zk

You can determine the roughness of the pavement you're riding over by the clinking-together of the bottles. A couple o' really loud clinks'll getcha to slow right down 'n take it easy. cheers, Tom -- Nothing is safe from me. I'm really at: tkeats curlicue vcn dot bc dot ca
