Subject: Color of Redline 925?
I just ordered one, and amusingly enough, nobody can agree or tell me
what color it is. Some say metallic blue fade, some say jet black.
Another shop insisted, "they're gray!" The REI guy thought it was
"bronze". Matters little actually, I'm just curious. Anybody spotted
one in the wild?

My guess is the new model is black to grey fade, but all the trade show
foties and personal pics look very different.

Would be nice to know, so I can get my Squirrel-Gards(tm) powdercoated
to match. :D

Yeah, my road bike is a single speed, so one of each would compliment
each other like Country and Western. :-P This one will be used for
utility, beer fetching, and general urban riding mayhem. I'll see about
the gearing, fix setup is 42x15. I usually run a 16 around here and
it's perfect. 15 is likely fine with the local hills.

Wonder what a singlespeed bike would be like? Build one. Or grab one of
the Redlines, as they're excellent values. The Monocog mtb is a hoot as
well, and built like the veritable brick sh*thouse:

They likely come with the levers in the wrong place. From what I hear,
that's the hardest thing to dial in for moustache bars. I've heard
raves about them. Can't be worse than flat bars, and Nashbar's always
got something on sale if they don't work out. Some Nitto Randonneurs
would be pretty cool as well. Just something wrong with those and
fenders on a fixie, I might have to do it if the originals aren't my
bag.*g*

Those are nice looking bikes. I've often wondered what a singlespeed
would be like, especially with those moustache bars. Are you going to
run it as a fixie?

I hear the moustache bars on the Redline are not very comfortable. Folks
rave about the Nittos though. Of course, I could be wrong.
