I'm considering an apartment in Tuckahoe, NY and was wondering if there are any cyclists on this board who currently live in Westchester and can speak to the road and mountain biking scene in Westchester. I realize Westchester is a rather large place, but any info is appreciated. As of right now, I'm thinking of holding my breath to find a place a bit further north--I like Pleasantville especially--although you know how draining apt hunting can be. I just want to get it over with, but I don't want to end up anywhere that would suck for road cycling (I ride on the road more than off-road), as crazy as that concern may sound.

Road conditions are usually pristine, unlike the other side of Westchester (Yonkers to Ossining.) --ag

It's been a while but I used to live in lower Westchester and found lots of great road cycling. I rode with a club that used to be called Country Cycling Club and now goes by Westchester Cycling Club. Lots of group rides nd nice folks. Abilities ranged from beginner to strong recreational. Their website is: http://www.westchestercycleclub.org/
