In a previous "ramble, rant, groan, whine" (on bc.cycling)...I mentioned I
was building
another roadie as a commuter to replace Freddy Fender...called "Bender"

He's finally finished.

Bender started out as an Apollo ("by Kuwahara") sport 12 that had been stuck
in a hedge at St. Cuthbert's church in North Delta early in March. Rear
wheel was trashed and it was missing a couple of cables. I re-built the
rear wheel, and swapped over some parts from Freddy. Mucho thanx goin' out
to the good guys 'n gals at O.C.B. for the odds 'n ends and the new
aluminium rim...

We'll see...the DiaCompe center-pulls from the previous incarnation did an
excellent job...I don't know yet if these produce *quite* enough braking
pressure with those levers

They were good enough to easily maintain control down 116th. It's a longer,
but gentler slope...
