Subject: How about some civility on ARBR for a change?
I am fed up with all the skullduggery and just plain bad temper that
constantly takes place on ARBR. Why is it not possible to say whatever it is
you have to freaking say without resorting to casting aspersions on such a
fine gentleman and scholar as myself.

I urge all of you to review the posts of Ed Dolan the Great in order to know
not only what to say, but how to say it. I am now approaching over 8000
posts to this worthless newsgroup known as ARBR and I can't tell you how fed
up I am with the lot of you. Frankly, I do not know if I will make it to my
goal of posting 10,000 messages on this group. Some days I wallow in a pond
of despond at all the idiots, morons and cretins that I have to put up with
here on ARBR.

Just because you have no intelligence does not mean that you can't at least
be civil. I urge one and all to act like human beings instead of like the
crazed beasts that you are. Yea, one day I leave you and then you will
regret not having the Great Ed Dolan to kick around anymore.

You should take all this to uk.sheds and whatever worldwide equivalent
there is. That group is there specifically for ranting about anything
you want.

But I am not crazy like they are and that is a critical difference. I need
folks around me who are sane and you will find nothing but freaks and
criminals on kook groups. Most of them do not have brains enough to come in

He said that to Senator Leahy of Vermont and I heartily second his motion.
But fuck all the Senate liberal 'cut and run' Dems, most especially
including Kennedy and Kerry. What the hell is there about Massachusetts that
only assholes come from there. Even Minnesota is not as bad as Mass.
although still too liberal to suit me.

Ah, so rudeness and crudeness is appropriate when used against a reputed
asshole.

Go fuck yourself.

You are the only crude bastard here as you prove every time you post. But if
I had a fucking English name like yours I would definitely devote myself to
being fucked full time by every asshole that came down the pike. That is all
you and your cowardly ilk (far left wing liberal ding bats - all one word)

Get real Foster. If someone calls you an asshole or tells you to go fuck
yourself, you are going to return the compliment, aren't you? This is why
name calling never works on Usenet. I prefer never to do it myself, but I
will return tit for tat. There is no other way unless you want the
vulgarians to have the last word.

Ah, that's more like it! No more pompous faux benevolence, no more
sanctimony, no more play-acting with fancy words and very loose
interpretation of carefully-chosen facts. Just roughly strewn-together
obscenity and bigotry worthy of any Bahston pub, circa 1:30 AM.

Now, you're more interesting. Well, more real.

You could use a bit more practice though. The profanity doesn't exactly
flow from your fingertips like virgin cunt cream. I suggest some study
of alt.sex.stories.

Nope, the above is nothing but more Ed Dolan subterfuge, all of it strictly
tongue in cheek. But stay tuned, if I really get pissed off at you, you will
know it and there will be no mistake about what I intend.

I leave the above slime to you and your drinking buds there in freaking
Boston, Massachusetts. But I like your reference to cunt. Now be sure to
mention cock while you are at it. And do not ever neglect to reference your
favorite word in all the world - fuck! Let's see, what do we have here -
cunt, cock and fuck. Yup, all four letter words. Right up Lynn Wallace's
alley.

After all, you do not want your drinking buds there in soggy old Boston to
think you are some kind of fairy. And hey, what about those g.d. Red Sox!

Intriguing, especially if true.

Is this a case of a craftily laid trap or after-the-fact nimbleness? A
change of mood due to a significantly smaller or greater consumption of
3.2% beer at one time or other?

Just another in an ever-growing list of unknowables. Mystery is indeed
the spice of life.

Actually, I've never been to Boston, but "Lynn" is a four-letter word.

Who gives a shit about some lame-ass baseball team? The fat bastards
spend most of their time in "competition" either sitting or standing. I

3.2 beer or any other kind of beer is for barbarians. I am strictly into
wine, but only a single brand, Livingston Cellars Red Rose. It is the
cheapest wine you can buy but very good as it does not give me a headache.

I like to just sort of sip it as I post to Usenet. I will admit that I
occasionally sip a bit too much which causes me to go berserk and say things
that even I don't recognize later on. I ask myself - did I really write
that? Sometimes under such circumstances I am brilliant and at other times I
am just plain dumb.

After many years of beer drinking I found it to be just not worth it.
An occasional beer in the middle of a ride was refreshing but usually
overpriced at a quickie t. Back to O.J., V-8, and Gatorade.

You act like he said it "on the record" or in a speech or something.

What would you say to someone who went around calling you all kinds of vile
names -- /on the record/ -- behind your back, but then tried to glad-hand
you for public consumption.

Leahy is one of the biggest dickheads in Washington. Telling him to go fuck
himself was quite an appropriate comment.

(Come to think of it, I see why you quoted it.) <eg >

I'd call him (or her) a lying, hypocritical spineless weasel and quite
possibly suggest they perform an anatomically unlikely feat with him (or
her) self. And I'd do it privately, so if it got out then the person was
obviously a tattle-tale lying, hypocritical....yada yada yada.

But it is also a good way to get some more input here on ARBR. We have grown
incestuous and need some outsiders to freshen things up.

I am planning to post an original message very early on Mondays from now on
and it will be to multiple newsgroups since I am never on-topic anyway. It
will always be general in nature and will apply to any and all newsgroups
which have ever existed. My only aim, as always, will be to stir things up.
Stay tuned.

Well, Mr. Tom Sherman of ARBR has mentioned his 10,000 posts several times
over the course of the years. You do not think I am going to let a liberal
left wing ding bat (all one word) like him be the most prolific poster of
all time to ARBR do you? If I allowed that, then I would not be Great - and
as you well know I am Ed Dolan the Great, not Ed Dolan the Lessor. So I have
to at least equal his miserable 10,000 posts.

Usenet is strictly for idiots, assholes and jerks - positively no
exceptions! When I am on Usenet I try to be the biggest idiot, asshole
and jerk of them all. I set the standard for one and all. I believe I
can state with absolute assurance that I am the Greatest Idiot, the
Greatest Asshole and the Greatest Jerk that Usenet has ever known in

I frankly do not have the slightest idea what newsgroups are all about.

some mayhem. I am superfluous. Think of me as the buffoon of ARBR and

Hey Ed. I agree with your call for civility. I hope that it gets
heard by others. On the subject of cycling, have you done any
cycling/touring along the North Shore of your beautiful State? In 2004
I traveled by car on a family vacation from Thunder Bay to Duluth
wishing I had my bike the whole time! What a beautiful drive!
Superior is amazing! I am certain it would be a great area tour on a

Hi Jim.

I once drove around Lake Superior many years ago in the month of August
expecting halfway decent weather. Hells Bells, I might just as well have
been in the high arctic. Low and heavy clouds hung over me for the entire
two weeks it took me to get around the Lake. It rained every other day and
was cold as hell. Nothing but gloom and doom all the way. All those damn
spruce trees dripping with moss made me wish I was dead.

You have to very careful once you get into Canada as there are only the main
roads and everyone is on them as there are no alternatives. North of Lake
Superior there is nothing, but even north of Thunder Bay (the old Fort
William and Port Arthur) there is not much. Frankly I gave up on the North
Woods years ago. It is basically nothing but a Green Hell.

I am a man of the Southwest and I love the deserts and the mountains of that
region. But it was my fate to be born and to have to live in dreadful
Minnesota where I am constantly assailed by nerds, jerks and all-around
assholes. But I am preparing to leave this world in any event for a far, far
better place known as Oblivion.
