http://www.knog.com.au/flash.html Linking to the Australian site because the US site is not as up to date. This company makes pretty stylish, albeit super hip, bike gear. Their bike bags are different than others I've seen. And the gloves are pretty cool. Mike

Note to others, they are currently selling the blue ones as Singles (a separate Left and Right) on their knogusa.com website for $29 each. Jenn

Might be a deal breaker for ya. On the other hand, they're super easy to carry off the bike as they have those nice large straps. They also have a little mesh compartment on the outside that fits a waterbottle perfectly on each side--however, with my large feet I have to mount the panniers with that bit facing backwards so I don't get heel strike--I'm not sure which way is the intended mounting polarity. I'd buy them again, and if I didn't want orangey hipness, I'd just get some really basic Axiom Appalachian panniers for $30--also permanently attached by a flap inbetween instead of using mounting hooks: http://midtownbikeco.com/itemdetails.cfm?ID=4320 same medium sized capacity. Think three two-liter bottle per side.

Thanks for the review, I've been eyeing these panniers - they are also lighter weight than most, and don't stick out too far. They seem great for commuting, I don't really need to bring that much stuff, and if I need to bring more than usual, I could just use both panniers instead of just one. Jenn

BUT----I applaud Knog for being innovative with their designs. The Pod system of panniers and rack trunk is cool. Hardsided bike luggage seems like a good idea. Their higher end lights are interesting. I like the control module on the Gator light. It's shaped just like the head unit, with a pictogram so you can turn on whichever bulb you want easily. The Gator light has both a spot beam AND a wide beam, and puts out 300-450 lumens. Plus the light looks "different". It looks organic, like the eye of some futuristic bug. Cool.

I got these: http://www.bikemannetwork.com/biking/p/BG0508 Very simple, very decent quality--one compartment with a cinch cord and a large foam reinforced flap. The raincovers are the coolest--- though I don't remember what rain is in this drought stricken region. I can easily carry over 30# worth of stuff in them before I start in on the tops of the front and rear racks. Probably not good for touring, but great medium sized urban utility panniers.

A lot of the NO BRAKES crowd around here uses those Frog lights as their primary lightning. Total boneheads, but they make good supplemental "be seen" lightning for sure. \\paul
