Subject: Juist how evil is Tom Sherman?
I feel quite badly that I am always damning Tom Sherman of ARBR for his
political views. He is actually very intelligent and he knows more about
recumbents than anyone else in the world, including Robert Bryant, the
editor of RCN. Why am I so pissed off at him all the time?

Let me say here and now that Tom Sherman is the only reason I still stay on
these cycling newsgroups. I respect intelligence and he has that in spades.
I am just smart enough to know that at least.

I do not know why Mr. Sherman and I do not get along better than we do. I
think it is because he never gives any, whereas I try to do so. I hate his
liberal views, especially when it comes to national security issues, but
that is not the essence of it. The essence of it is that Tom Sherman never
gives an inch. That is what infuriates any normal person and it is why I
hate liberals like him as much as I do.

Don't y'all ever feed your trolls? Why, look at this! The poor thing
is malnourished!

Now, Mr. Dolan... the tight-pants crowd may be easy; however, I
suggest that there are many better forums. My own personal favorite
trolling turf are the gun-rights groups. I have averaged three death
threats a day for weeks therein; I once wrote a troll that ran as a
single thread for over two years and had well over 30,000 postings...
and I've been "plonked" over 30 times... by the SAME person!!! I tell
you, sir, they warm a troll's heart.

Jones is no doubt a kindred spirit, a person after my own heart. We trolls
only like to play with words. Why others go berserk at what we say is one of
the supreme mysteries of the universe that we will never understand. Words
can't hurt you after all. In fact, they may even cause you to put your brain
into gear and think some thoughts that would otherwise never occur to you.

The trick, of course, is to cause the "fish" to believe that you have
some power over him or her... usually "him". I had 'em peeing their
pants when all they had to do was simply ignore me.

It apparently takes some folks 10 years to acquire some sophistication about
how Usenet works. It took me about 10 months I must admit, but thanks to Tom
Sherman of ARBR I soon acquired the hide of a rhinoceros.
