From the The Sun News: "The crash Friday morning that killed a Myrtle Beach man who was bicycling on US 501 is still under investigation, said Senior Trooper Sonny Collins of the State Highway Patrol. No arrests had been made and no charges had been filed, Collins said. Murphy McDougald, 50, of Myrtle Beach, was pronounced dead at the scene after the 6:30am crash, Horry County Coroner Robert Edge said. McDougald was cycling to his job at Harbor Lights resort when he was struck from behind by a 2006 Nissan pickup truck, driven by Eric Creighton of Surfside Beach, officials said."

Key phrase: "still under investigation" If the cops and the folks at the DA's office are honest and competent, then charges will be filed if warranted. If the cops and/or the DA are corrupt, there is no guarantee of anything...in either direction. -- Typoes are a feature, not a bug. Some gardening required to reply via email. That's terrible. I do have to wonder if this may be a case of an unlit or underlit cyclist.
