Subject: Question for "On The Road", a local column regarding traffic issues
Q: If motor vehicles are riding on the streets, must they obey the same
traffic laws that bicycles have to follow? I've seen numerous motor vehicles
blast down streets over the speed limit; and fail to look before making
turns, much less signal before doing so.

Thank you for publishing the answer to this question.

Love it! Our local "Roadshow" column in the San Jose Murky News
frequently has similar questions regarding cyclists, as I'm sure yours
does.

I pretty much expect the lack of signaling. It's the red light running
and obvious inattention of drivers that bothers me personally. "Hang Up
and Drive" you dumb wanker! If only there was some sort of licensing
and registration scheme for these outlaws on our public roadways.

A consultant is a person who borrows your watch, tells you what time it
is, pockets the watch, and sends you a bill for it.

I've even seen trucks "bunny hop" curbs to park partly on the sidewalk and
get in the way of pedestrians.

They don't get proper elevation, though, as their bunny hop technique is
poor.
