Subject: Recommendation for bicycle shop in Atlanta/Dunwoody area
I'm helping a relative in Atlanta buy a bicycle and wanted some
recommendations for shops in the Dunwoody/Sandy Springs area. A shop
that carriers a variety of manufacturer's products, not a tied shop.
Preferably a shop that carriers Jamis, Marin, and/or Bianchi.

Paul recommended me some down in 'lanta a while back, but
unfortunately Google search isn't doing groups right now, so.

HEY PAUL, CAN WE GET A REPRISE ON THOSE SHOPS?

Think that was loud enough. ;-)

Yeah...Sorry, I was out of town with the lady friend extrordinaire.

Intown Bikes: great guys. More a commuter crowd, but they know what
they're doing and don't have an attitude about it.

Skate Escape: Small shop. Bit of an attitude. Once you get to know the
head mechanic, Donald, he can save your ass.

Outback Bikes: Great shop, huge attitude. Personally, I wouldn't take
anything to their shop that I didn't by there. They've "ordered" at
least 6 parts for me and never called me back about one of them, depsite
their promised to update me the next day. Racer crowd.

Bike South: Good shop, declining staff. Great, but over worked
mechanics. If you know what you want and can do it yourself, this is a
great place to go to get/order parts. Kyle moved to Thailand and Josh
moved to...

Peachtree Bikes: Josh is a great guy, not too familiar with the store.

Performance: I avoid this place unless I'm in the area and need tire
levers or something. The mechanics, IMO, are crap.

REI (up I-85): Pretty much as good as any LBS around here. It's still
a big box store, but the bike section is great.

Roswell Bikes: Closer to D'wood. Not much experience, but people seem
to like 'em.

Free Flite: STAY AWAY!
