Hello, Does anybody here have any experience with Waterford Bikes[http:// www.waterfordbikes.com/index.php] ? They seem really impressive looking to me. How do they ride? I'd like to get a Waterford-type finish for my trike. Regards, Cullen

My bike is TIG welded True Temper OX Platinum tubing with a Waterford level paint job. They do a really nice job. Nice welds, beautiful paint. Plus they're really nice people to deal with. If you call, there's a good chance you'll speak to Richard Schwinn himself.

They also produce recumbent bike frames for the Volae brand, and have the same great reputation for quality and value in that market segment.

Every Waterford frame I've seen has been crackerjack; well thought out, well constructed and very nicely finished. And, in today's market, they are a bargain.

If you are nearby, I'll tell you more. During the first bankruptcy/reorg of Schwinn, one of the family, Richard Schwinn, took over the high-end Schwinn plant in Waterford, Wisconsin. He had to change the name, though, and thus Waterford was born. They produce Waterford, Gunnar, and some frames for other people -- I think they still do the frames for Heron. A number of people in our club have them and seem quite pleased. This doesn't include me, so I can't add anything more. real e-mail: zbicyclist at yahoo dot com

How do they ride? I've always wanted one. I knew a guy with a Waterford a few years back--he was constantly raving about it. -Luigi -- Luigi de Guzman http://ouij.livejournal.com
