I have a set of Ortlieb rollers, they are waterproof. I had a bag of ice in one that melted, didn't loose a drop! They are fantastic bags, and well worth the money. I have been using the Nashbar waterproofs for about 3 years of commuting, maybe 80 to 100 days a year, year-round. I like them a lot. I got an especially good sale price on mine -- I think it was $45 for the set. No hesitation recommending these.

How about Carradice? www.carradice.co.uk. Made in England since the '40s. Popular with audaxers and die-hard tourists. They have a reputation for durability which, IME, is well-deserved. Traditionalists love the looks and they are truly waterproof.

Waterproof on not, I would still carry some small garbage bags and line my panniers with them as added insurance. - - Comments and opinions compliments of, "Your Friendly Neighborhood Wheelman" Messages sent to the above "E" addy will be lost forever! to E-mail me: ChrisZCorner "at" webtv "dot" net My website: http://geocities.com/czcorner
