Subject: What makes Alan Erskine the Asshole that he is?

In a word, ignorance!
I attribute all of Alan's difficulties to the fact that he thinks he knows
what a troll is and yet he does not have a clue. I have urged him repeatedly
to check the ARBR archives to learn about this subject, but of course he
(like all the rest of us) is way too lazy to ever do any research on the
matter. So, instead all he does he post his repetitive messages about
trolls, never having any inkling what he is talking about.
But the world is full of Alan Erskines who think they know something when
they are woefully ignorant. Trolls are extremely rare on Usenet. The reason
for this is that it takes a lot of effort to be a troll. You also have to be
mindless of course. Alan is more a troll than any other fool I have
encountered recently but he will soon fizzle out I as I can see he does not
have the stamina to be a true troll.
Alan is just ignorant and from that stems all his difficulties. A real troll
would make short work of him and not indulge him like I do. But I feel sorry
for all those who think they know something when they don't. Poor Alan has
read a dictionary definition of a troll and that is good enough for him.
Let me tell you about Ed Gin (Johnny NoCom, etc.) who destroyed ARBR a
couple of winters ago. He posted spam like messages on all the threads then
current. When others objected, he just continued to post his spam like
messages. Then he got into name calling which reduced to nothing but
obscenities. He never posted under his real name of course but used numerous
false names. Finally he was forging other's real names and their addresses
too. All this was done via a newsreader which guaranteed his anonymity and
made it impossible to track him down. Ed Gin would have reduced Alan Erskine
to a nonentity in a flash and there is absolutely nothing that could be done
about it short of getting a police detective to investigate.
Jim McNaa is also an expert on trolls and he, like me, knows a real troll
when confronted with one. Poor Alan is out of his depth entirely. He is a
naïf on the subject.

You have often criticized me for being long winded and for writing too
long a paragraph even when I originated (authored) the post so you
can't very well cite that as reason for your exemption. What you have
to say often does come back to haunt you doesn't it, Ed.
Regardless of relevance, you have an answer for every occasion even
when that answer contradicts a position previously taken which in turn
contradicts your claim that you stand by every you post you make. You
can't very well stand by opposing points of view now can you??? This
makes for a vexing and unresolvable dilemma that is even above and
beyond beyond the powers of the "great" one.

An I can say with some degree of certainty that no one want to end up
like you. In the past you have often expressed your admiration for Tom,

There is the old Tom and then there is the new Tom. The new Tom is not worth
bothering with. He has given up on the group the same as I have. I will soon
take my 7th and final farewell from the group where I will in essence tell
everyone (including Tom Sherman) to go fuck themselves.

Thin-skinned types deserve to be offended. I consider it my good deed for

I stated several times that Ed Gin is not part an parcel of this
discussion, so when and where did I state that you and Ed Gin were the
same kind of troll??? I have been very definitive in my discrimination.
In fact, I was very specific in this particular regard in other threads
when I stated that there is nothing either explicit or implicit in the
definition of a troll that can possibly be misconstrued as good. GOOD
TROLL is an oxymoron. Comparing trolls, as you continue to suggest, is
akin to comparing apples and oranges. They are both fruit but come in
different flavors. All trolls are not "created" equal, but the
difference that distinguish them from one another is merely a matter of
form (read style) rather than substance. The readership has heard
enough and has long since made there own determination in this regard.
End of discussion. This particular topic has been exhausted and is
closed to further discussion. Even the dead horse is complaining of the
continued beatings.

An original post can be longer than a response post. After all, we do not
want to end up like Tom Sherman who has become a cipher and a nonentity here
on ARBR. I think he should permantely crossover to the technical group where
he can more fully indulge his nerdiness with all those other techno-freaks.

Poor ED needs the attention. He's an aging, lonely virgin (per his own
admission) whose only joy in life is stirring up conflict on Usenet. He's
afraid of women and most human contact, but needs some sort of release for
his feelings of rejection...thus his silly posts (and cross-posts when he
fails to get the level of response that he craves).
Bottom line...he's a waste of bandwidth, and the world will not mourn, or
even take notice of, his passing.
The best approach is to killfile and/or ignore him.

Hey, Alan, the groups are now being visited by a real troll. How do you like
it? If you would like to track him down and report him to his ISP, have a go
at it. However, you will get nowhere because a real troll makes sure that
everything about him is false. Well, I guess even a dumbbell like you has to
learn things the hard way.

I rank URC right behind AB in terms of overall stupidity. The Brits have a
better command of the English language, but unfortunately they need the
ministrations of Ed Dolan the Great just as much as AB. However, there is a
group in BC (British Columbia, Canada) which absolutely takes the cake in
terms of overall stupidity. Let's face it, the former dominions of the
British Empire are the dregs of humanity.

Oops, I meant "seemingly" (sorry 'bout the typo). As concerns your
"assertion" regarding my statement being an assertion, you will soon be
proved wrong. I consider Ed a troll and he considers himself to be a
"good" troll or not a troll at all depending upon his whim of fancy at
the time of writing. We obviously have a differing opinion in that
regard that is arguably pointless to continue to debate over. Just as
you an Alan have found Ed and I tedious, I think Ed and I have found
common ground in finding the both of you tedious.
You should have learned by now, like Alan has, that it would be best to
briefly endure in silence that which will fizzle out on its own rather
than contribute to the problem by deliberately interjecting yourself
into the mix. Allow me to suggest that you find yourself s more
suitable hobby. As for the pretentious MD, does that stand for
meddlesome dame??? I'll be out of here soon and leave Ed Dolan to you
