Subject: Why even make the effort?
As I was taking a short rest and a drink at the top of a rather long
hill, I saw a van approaching from the other direction. As it got
closer, there was a couple of short toots on the horn, I figured a
fellow cyclist, so I waved. And there it was. Peeking out of the
drivers window. That finger. You know the one. So as he passed, I gave
him the thumbs up. Next time I'm going to point and start laughing
hysterically....

Why would he even bother?

Some people are just losers. Forget it and ride on.

That was my impression as well. It didn't really bother me, I've had
worse (like almost being squeezed off the road at about 50km/hr by a
transport last week). I was just wondering...

As to Sallys question, I was standing on the shoulder on the opposite
side of the road.

Because he feels like an aggressive, frustrated piece of crap. That's
how I feel when I have to drive somewhere because of the weather,
distance or lack of time, anyway :-)

Were you standing in the road or off in bushes? If you were standing in the
road, he was probably warning you not to make any sudden movements, kind like
what cyclists do when they shout "on your left".
