This is an incident that supposedly happened on a heavily used trail
running north for about 4 to 5 miles in Dallas, TX

It is not very well lit, so I would not have been out on it after dark,
but I ride on a portion of it several days a week. I will have to admit
that the story sounds odd to me, but am sure that the police will
investigate it.

Followup story. Quick thinking bike shop employees assist the local PD
in apprehending a suspect.

The guy waited two weeks to bring his bike in, but the repairmen were
aware of the situation and called it in.

The article states, "...a 5-foot-7 inch physically fit bald white
man,..." Physically fit--I think that lets Dr. Phil off the hook.
