Subject: biking in central virginia - southside
Hi! I'm a recent tranplant from NJ and was wondering if there are any
bike clubs for the Farmville area. I am apprehensive about biking on
these back country roads by my lonesome. If any one knows anyone who
would like a biking partner, please let them know about me! I'm a 31
year old ried woman with two children.....Thanks,
Evelyn

Thank you so much...There are some back roads that rarely see a lot of
traffic but I guess I'm used to NJ where there are actual shoulders to
the roads! I would love to bike if you come to southside! Age is
only a number! I'm 31 but need to get back into shape!
I am a teacher and have all of June and July free; you can just email
me at eziennker@yahoo.com.
Thanks!

I have heard that the local bike shop in Farmville does rides, but I
can't identify it.

We live in D.C., but my wife runs a summer bed & breakfast, Oak Grove
Plantation, about 70 miles from Farmville near South Boston, VA. The
whole area in Farmville and South Boston is absolutely fabulous for
biking. There are lots of roads with no traffic. I know some good
routes. I think you are lucky to be there. I go through Farmville
about eight times a year, and would be happy to bike with you (though
note I'm 65).
