Subject: decent trainer for under $179? cyclometer setups with this?
|
I'm looking for a good trainer for indoors.. something that will feel realistic and be durable in the long term. My price range maxes at around $179.. So far, the one I'm leaning on is this one: http://www.amazon.com/Minoura-Magnetic-Hybrid-Indoor-Trainer/dp/B000HLVHD6/ref=sr_1_13/102-9786792-5216126?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1185911003&sr=8-13 (Minoura VFS fluid trainer). Anyone have any thoughts? Also.. when doing a trainer, the front wheel doesnt move (obviously), so do you simply get a cheap cyclometer (wireless) that can go on the rear wheel? Thanks

Magnetic trainers are not realistic as far as resistance. I use the Cateye Astrale 8 rear computer. It has a rear wheel mount and also has cadence.

Most wireless computers don't have the range to allow the sensor to be mounted on the rear wheel. It's probably easier to find a wired computer with a rear wheel pickup.
