Subject: electric bikes with small wheels ?
Is there any point to buying an electric bike with small wheels,
I mean is big factor in determining the power etc

There are two i see quite cheap one has 12 " wheels the other here has
16" , both are cheap but Im wondering if this is due to the size of
the wheels and their effect on the peformance.

Small wheels and fast are not mutually exclusive:

The small wheels have a purpose all their own, and don't detract from
the utility of the bike in typical commuter/utility use--an a folding
bike with large wheels wouldn't fold up nearly as small.

If the motor were properly geared to the small wheel, the motor would
work just as well.

As someone else noted the battery does not look real big.

First, this might not be the place to ask the question. This has generally
been a group that's pretty much stayed with 100% human-powered bicycles.

But, what you're looking at might end up being close to 100% human-powered.
It's got a very small battery (24v .9amp/hrs) and probably can't drive those
wheels without quite a bit of assistance. It claims a 35km range; I have
serious doubts about that, unless the motor's not doing much work at all.
Which could very well be the case.

Also, it's a bit screwy that they only give you tiny little photos to look
at. There's just not enough info here to make any sort of intelligent
decision, aside from their recommendation that it's for motor homes & such.
That's probably a good clue; asking about the wheels effect on performance
gives me the impression you're looking for something a bit more capable.

If so, it's worth noting that this "ultra light weight" bike weighs 24
kilograms (over 53 lb).

At Mike J's shop, he might be able to sell you three bikes for that total
weight.
