Stuart O'Grady stretchered off, Michael Rogers retired hurt, Robbie McEwan
didn't make the time cut. Not a good day for the antipodeans.

Anyone know what happened to O'Grady, and how badly he's hurt?

In the video it looked to me like Rogers just crashed a normal wipe-
out without hitting anything and Arroyo t-boned the gaurd-rail
avoiding him.

According to a a Danish CSC press release, O'Grady has a punctured
lung, a broken collar bone, a broken shoulderblade, 5 broken ribs and
3 "tapper" in his back. It says it is important to emphasize that his
back itself is not broken. I don't know what "tapper" are.

Sounds pretty bad, but I suppose it could be worse. He's a tough guy,
I hope it doesn't stop him for good.

the cormet is notorious for bad, nasty crashes...wow. But i remember a
few years ago, one of the danish ridersn on CSC...what the hell was his
name...broke six ribs, punctured lung, etc, but he recovered.

AMazing, o grady wins paris roubaix... not to mention finishing it like
how many times? The most dangerous, treacherous race...but in the tour
he really 'spits the dummy'...is that the right expression? Screws the
pooch? Whatever...

The 4 stages of life:
1. rubber
2. leather
3. late-leather
4. china

Looks like O'Grady skipped late-leather and went straight to stage 4.

Did you know if you go to Australia, and order a Fosters at the bar, they've
never heard of it? O'Grady will have some time now to enjoy those wonderful
Australian beers, expect him to hit 200 lbs before someone tells him maybe
he should start cutting back a wee bit.

No. But sometimes his posts are more annoying than usual. And I thought
this one was particularly clueless. Even stage 1 kids break bones when they
hit the ground that hard.

Oh we have heard of it,...a saturation of ads some time back made sure we
did.
It's just that the majority of us don't like that particular brand.

Apparently he went into the rail while Arroyo went over and got lucky
on his landing site (if it had been Charly Gaul he would probably have
done a barrel roll and a loop and landed back on his bike ready to
continue).
