Subject: LeMond Looks Good!
Dear Race Fans:
Greg LeMond is the honorary chairperson of the American Diabetes
Association's Tour de Cure. And he looks fit, tanned and rested. My
guess is that in the past two or three years he got a "nutritional
consult" from a real Registered Dietician (not the health food store
clerk!) and it, and a bit of riding, have paid off. Here's the link to
the ADA's Tour de Cure home page.

As for what's in it for Greg? Diabetes basic science researchers
are among the groups doing the most probing of mitochondria, and IF a
basic "cure" for type 2 diabetes is found, there's a bunch of clinical
endocrinology researchers who are going to have to find a new disease
to treat. Like mitochondrial myopathy. And he gets his face and racing
record in the public eye again.

You think maybe Greg L. figured that out himself, or did someone tell
him? Perhaps one of the Trek keting people said "What have you done
for us lately besides design bikes and say bad things about Lance?"

This is the 2nd year that Greg Lemond has been the honorary chair of
Tour de Cure.

Granted, you probably would not pay as much attention to TdC if you
didn't have as much diabetes risk and incidence in your family as I
have in mine.

Dumbass -

That would be an infinitely better way for him to be in the public eye
than the lameass shit he's been doing for the last 4 years.

thanks,

K. Gringioni.

Well, he might have done the Leadville Trail 100 instead (after
Armstrong withdrew) but it would have had bad associations for him.
