Look like he knows something that we don't... "Basso racing in the Tour de France," Prudhomme questioned to La Gazzetta dello Sport. "I know that all Italians are interested in this. It is a valid question but now I am not able to respond. We will see" "I don't have the pieces to confirm it, but I have the feeling that there will (be) more revelations." For the whole hour, he was saying that Armstrong had put a shell under his skinsuit in the style of downhill skiers and motorcycle racers and that, like him or hate him, you had to respect Armstrong for his introduction of technology. Jeez... -ilan -ilan

Well, Thevenet is the most knowledgeable and precise person I've ever heard commentating, so it's too bad they stopped using him for the Tour, though he's still doing the other races. I've always avoided Eurosport in French because of Fignon, J.F. Bernard, and Virenque. The one time I heard Bernard, I didn't recognise his voice and kept wondering who the idiot was who was railing that riding big gears does not cause or aggravate knee problems. -ilan

I'm not sure why, but that person ended up banished from the PAF (paysage audiovisuel francais). Just to make Prudhomme look good, they replaced him with Christophe Josse, who didn' know anything about cycling and I don't think the gave the poor guy much time to study up on it before handing him the job, for example, he spent the whole of Julich's final ITT veling at his great aerodynamic form, though it should be noted that it took about an hour for expert commentators Thevenet and Jalabert to figure out that the had in fact put a Camelbak inside his skinsuit. -ilan

They guys with him is very knwoledgeable, I think he'll be organizing the Tour of Romandie this year.

It's my impression that Prudhomme is just a puppet for the ASO bigshots. If I'm not mistaken, he was never a rider, and when he was TV commentator, he never had anything particularly interesting to say. It is my impression that Daniel Baal was being groomed as Leblanc's replacement but he was let go when he started expressing too many personal opinions, so they picked Prudhomme who is just a "super fan" of the Tour and who will do anything he's told. -ilan

He was alternativaly overdoing it and missing obvious points.

> "I don't have the pieces to confirm it, but I have the feeling that > there will (be) more revelations." I would say the same thing, and I assure you I don't know anything you don't know. Who doesn't think that there are pretty good odds Puerto isn't done with Basso?
