PARIS - Several elite cyclists have had unannounced doping tests ahead
of the Tour de France and some of the initial results were positive.

"We are targeting six to seven riders considered high risk because of
their suspicious behavior and because they are liable to do well at
the Tour de France," Union Cycliste Internationale anti-doping manager
Anne Gripper said. "We are processing these results and not all were
negative."

C'mon. You're making it sound like they're trying to fight the doping
fight through the press. Next thing you'll be saying that doping test
results are leaked on purpose.

There's a typo there, it should be ..."because of their suspicous
behaviour which is being liable to do well at the Tour de France.."

I must say the way the story has spread seems like its a bit
of blackmail to get every rider to sign this ridiculous UCI
form thing otherwise.. hey look we're not naming names but
(nod head in direction of rider) men in black.. you know what
I mean.. nudge nudge... wink wink...

Only a few.

Used to be shitloads of them back in the forties and fifties. Few of them were
ever found out because of ham-handed, publicity seeking persecution that made
any legitimate detection and prosecution almost impossible.

The funniest comment was this: "We received information that they were
training in strange locations and in strange outfits,..."

Yeah, they were wearing lycra in the mountains.

A rather professionally done easter egg, but an easter egg nonetheless.

"The riders, none of whom has been named, have undergone three or four
out-of-competition tests in the past few weeks,"

Didn't an Astana DS recently comment the Klodi was tested numerous
times in one week recently? I'm glad I didn't include him on my
podium the other day ... I'm sticking with Moreau, Vino, and
Contador ...
