I had no idea that diseases had nationalities. I do know that Giardia is quite well know in Durango Colorado, TD's current home town when he's in the states. A number of years ago the drinking water supply of the local ski area became contaminated. And NOBODY knew that the little critters had migrated all the way from Spain! DR

It's a big blow to Discovery but they still have a great chance for a podium finish.

I was encouraged when I read that JV said that thinking of him as a potential Grand Tour winner didn't seem possible and that TD was probably hurt by the "Next LA" tag given to him when he joined Tailwind.

Isn't that what they said about Lance? First he was going to be the NEXT LEMOND and then he was just a big sprinter-type and look what happened. The fact is that Danielson has what it takes to become a grand tour winner regardless of what others have to say. He has a bad day on each grand tour and without that he'd look a great deal better.

Yah, I never thought he had what it took to get to the podium of a GT. I think he could do top ten again (he already has a sixth and eighth in the Vuelta) or possibly five if things went right but that last little bit of whatever it takes to get to the top just doesn't seem to be there. He seems like a great guy and is certainly fast but GT contender just doesn't seem to be in the cards. It's too bad he's out so soon in this Vuelta, though. -- tanx, Howard Fabergé eggs are elegant but I prefer Fabergé bacon. remove YOUR SHOES to reply, ok?
