I take it Mayo is the Spaniard, any idea who the two Italians are? From the article: ------------------------------------------------ MILAN, Italy: Three cyclists have tested positive for doping during the Giro d'Italia, the Gazzetta dello Sport reported Wednesday without citing names. Two of the riders are Italian and one is Spanish, the Gazzetta said. The paper reported that none of the cyclists were among the top finishers in the race, which ended 10 days ago. ------------------------------------------------ Read it at http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/06/13/sports/EU-SPT-CYC-Giro-Doping.php J. Originally it was on the list because it could be used to mask other drugs in the old days of poorly separated drug detections. Since this stuff is used by so many people legally and unless there is proof positive that it is truly performance enhancing it ought to be simply dropped from the lists like caffeine has been.

MILAN, June 14 (Reuters) - Giro d'Italia stage winner Leonardo Piepoli has said his 'non negative' dope test from the race was caused by the salbutamol inhaler he uses for asthma. "I take salbutamol to treat asthma but there is nothing illegal in this," he told reporters on Thursday. "But sincerely I do not know the number of inhalations I have done. I take it every time I need it." Piepoli, who won the 10th stage of the Giro last month, was one of three riders to record a 'non negative' result, local media reported. Media said fellow Italian Alessandro Petacchi, who won five stages, tested for salbutamol but also has a medical certificate to use the substance. "We are calmly awaiting the analysis," Gianluigi Stanga, head of Petacchi's Milram team, told ANSA news agency. "I have no reason for thinking Alessandro has done anything different from the past." Spain's Iban Mayo tested for extra testosterone but is known to have naturally occurring high levels, media said.
