Well, Versus again posted Cyclism Sunday for one time then when I went down to the Sports Bar to watch it on large screen TV with pub food and a gallon of beer it was snow boarding. Finally left in disgust, came back home and of course the schedule showed that it was kicked up an hour. Is it any wonder that these morons can't get an audience? Incompetence seems to run on every single day. Versus could have the audience for bicycling but they seem to want to treat cycling as a poorer cousin to Pro Wrestling. Screw them.

Oddly enough, Comcast listed Cyclysm Sunday at 5:00 pm Mountain Time, and sure enough, it was on at 5:00 pm Mountain Time ... One of the "Home Video" shows had a tape of a motorcycle, yes motorcycle, demolition derby. From the bikes it had to be from the mid 70s. That was painful, and amazing, to watch. If they just covered one baseball game a year would anyone be okay with it? Cycling is a sport... covering one race is like deciding to cover one NASCAR race or ball game. Either do it or don't do it but enough with this token effort, and trying to convince us we should be satisfied...that is getting really old already!

It seems like about every other time I decide to watch the races on Versus (ex-OLN) they change the schedule at the last minute. After all, they really have to make certain that they don't interfere with Lords of the Lumber.

But the issue is not pro or con cycling. They mess up all their listings. At least in our our area the sumy listings for the week published in the Sunday paper often do not agree with the daily listing times published in the sports section. I don't plan my day around TV shows so if I catch it fine and if not, well I go do something else. And there is still way more road cycling coverage on VS. than on all the other US channels combined. At least you got a gallon of >beer out of the deal. According to my TiVo, the Cyclism Preview will be on Wed 3/7 at 12pm PST, with the Tour of Qatar on at 1pm. Paris-Nice will be on Sunday 3/11 at 2pm PDT, with a replay on Wed 3/14 at 12pm. Tour of Qatar is 1 hour, Paris-Nice is 2 hours. I have my TiVo setup to record all cycling on Versus, and the only one of the shows it did not have scheduled to record is the Cyclism Preview, which it didn't record yesterday either. Of course, if they change the schedule and TiVo doesn't find out, I'll get whatever crud they are showing. -- Mike Iglesias Email: iglesias@uci.edu University of California, Irvine phone: 949-824-6926 Network & Academic Computing Services FAX: 949-824-2069

We can give them a small cut, maybe... I know, I know, I keep bringing it up, but this is a slight alteration. Pursuits on figure 8s. No medical until they crawl off the track. Second bonuses for secondary hits on subsequent passes. We could call it, "Pursuit of the Survivor". The trick part of it is (I think) being second through (pursuits with trackstands!), just enough to get the rear wheel, and we would have to decide what would be a legal takedown. Really nasty looking leather gloves with spikes would be a great visual, but wiping off sweat could be tricky. I think we really need to look at tag team pursuit, or Devil take the hind most as well.
