Today's stage was screwy because the big climb was cut out. Any bets that tomorrow Cunego and Simoni are going to attack each other and drop everyone else?

It would have been a classic breakaway stage. The nufenen is long and high, but not that steep. And the descent and the long flat section would have doomed any serious GC breakaway. The decisive stage is today. The final Grimsel climb is even less steep, however.

No wonder they cut the stage short. I didn't see any photos yet through I imagine cyclingnews will have them sooner or later. I have seen hail damage that knocked large dents in cars with strong bodywork so I'm not complaining about the decisions of the race directors - just saying that you can't tell anything about the race now because this was likely to be a pivotal stage and now tomorrow will be an attacking stage instead of a hanging- on-to-your-lead stage.
