Just curious as to why ³Big Maggy² Backstedt is not on the Liquigas squad
this TDF?? Injured, or simply not selected for the team? Missed seeing him
in the peloton during the first week, and even now.
I was very busy with studying/summer school in Apr-May-Jun and so I didn¹t
follow the classics/TDF tune-up races as I usually do. Organic Chemistry in
a month (May-Jun) has a funny way of changing your priorities!

Not selected. I miss seeing him too - one of the characters of the peloton.
He rode the Dauphine, and won his national road championships, but got
dropped from the Leakygas squad for the tour. See his website:

Maggy is in the studio with DD this week for British Eurosport doing pre
and post race comments
