This is why I come to rbr, so I can be enlightened, to learn something I don't know. Unfortunately I come in here (rbr), and I find out I'm the expert doing the educating, but after today's ITT results, I'm truly baffled. question 1: who should Discovery say is their No. 1 man, is it Contador, or Levi? Who should it be, and will it be? question 2: how did Cadel Evans get so good all of sudden? Wasn't he a mountain biker in a previous life? And if it comes down to Evans and Contador, should I pull for the english speaking Evans, or the American team of Discovery, and why? question 3: if the descent is so slick, that Millar almost stopped, why don't they put wider tires on. Isn't it better to lose 20 seconds, than a few minutes or a trip to the hospital if you crash? I'm talking about the pack-fill, not the top 10 who have a chance to win.

Dumbass - Either that or there may be some rumours floating around to which the rest of the world isn't privy. thanks, K. Gringioni.

Actually he didn't miss any tests, he sendt his where-abouts declaration too late acording to the rules but the UCI/ADD still recived them ahead of scedule. MR has been tested out of competition this year. -- Morten Reippuert Knudsen :-) <http://blog.reippuert.dk > Merlin Works CR-3/2.5 & Campagnolo Chorus 2007.

Are the Danish cycling authorities reflecting public opinion in dropping him from the team? Rasmussen's never struck me as a particularly likable guy, and he may well have ruffled a few feathers... but dropping him from the team for missed paperwork looks like a huge over-reaction. Isn't it? -- simon@jasmine.org.uk (Simon Brooke) http://www.jasmine.org.uk/~simon/ The Conservative Party now has the support of a smaller proportion of the electorate in Scotland than Sinn Fein have in Northern Ireland.

MR has been tested out of competition > this year. > It's merely Paddy McBoggy and his Megalomaniac Mentor Verbruggen firing off yet another Salvo from the Poop Deck of their Sinking Ship Pro-Tour. Politics as usual. Just contemplate how many "News" items where the "Facts" have been known to the "Sources" for a considerable or at least reasonable length of time break immediately Prior to or During a Significant RCS-UniPublic-ASO event. But it's going to be Inchon and Saigon for the Terrible Twins because it's a War they cannot possibly win. All that needs to happen is that (using France/ASO as an example although the Scenario is Equally Valid in most Civilized Cycling Nations) ASO simply amend the Rules of Engagement for its Races to delete any reference to UCI and FFC-FCI-CCA or Whatever_National_UCI_Affiliate and substitute therefor UFOLEP and the UCI is Hors Combat as the Lads rush to get UFOLEP Licenses. Except for the Olympic Follies which are Moribund anyway as the New World Order gains Momentum, McBoggy And Heinie will be Flapping around like Fish out of Water. And of course, Verbruggen will go back to Peddling Carnation Milk or Mars Bars leaving his Bum-Boy to Stumble, Blindly as ever, towards the Welfare Line. The Sponsors and Riders could care less who Governs the Races or What License is Required to Ride them; they simply want to Race without Power Hungry Politicos like Verbruggen and his Bum-Boy Paddy Who Fucking them Over. Verbruggen and McBoggy might think they're Big Wheels, but we all know what Dogs do to Big Wheels. (UFOLEP http://www.ufolep.org/default.asp?page=presentationuk Virtually All if not in fact All ASO Sportif events, of which there are a staggering number, already accept UFOLEP or other National Equivalent Licenses -- ie A UCI affiliate License is NOT Required) -- Davey Crockett - No 4Q to Reply - Idly wondering what happened to the Thirteenth Amendment to the US Constitution. The one that would have stripped Citizenship from the likes of Sir Rudy Giuliani, Sir Colin Powell and Sir Ronald Reagan and which was ratified by Virginia, the 13th and last requisite State to ratify an Amendment at that time, on March 12, 1819.

Why should the (first) language they speak, and the nation they're from, affect your judgement of a cyclist? Rasmussen, Gerdemann, and even Vino all speak better English than most Americans (and, indeed, more coherent English than Mark Cavendish). > question 3: if the descent is so slick, that Millar almost stopped, why > don't they put wider tires on. Millar said in an interview after his run that he had advised Iban Mayo to put road tyres on - presumably meaning 23mm@120psi rather than 20mm@180. -- simon@jasmine.org.uk (Simon Brooke) http://www.jasmine.org.uk/~simon/ ;; this is not a .sig
