Peter Clinch is an English jackass who fouls up this newsgroup every time he
posts to it. He is your typically opinionated Englishman (although living in
Scotland) who thinks he knows more than he does. His god damn signature
tells you everything you will ever have to know about him.
What is it about this jackass that I do not like? Well, to begin with it is
his signature which just infuriates me every time I see it. How do you get
to be such a god damn freaking asshole? Yea, that is the question!
But other than his signature is the single hobby horse he rides for all
eternity. He thinks helmets are for the birds and he never tires of telling
you that they do no good whatsoever. Fuck him and his nonsense! You listen
to this fool at your peril.
Don't you just hate anyone who puts on pretenses? Look at his signature and
tell me that there is no pretense there. God, I simply hate assholes like
him.
I urge one and all to adopt a humble and modest signature like mine.

It is OK to like me. After all, I am infinitely lovable.
The fact is that Mr. McNamara would not continue to engage me if he did not
find me interesting and yes likable. But I find him interesting and likable
too. All he ever needed was someone to give him a bit of insight into his
posting errors. As a result of my ministrations I simply can't imagine him
any more making all those mistakes with Ed Gin and Tom Sherman.
If and when Ed Gin should ever return to this forum I would expect Mr.
McNamara to treat him with the contempt he so richly deserves and not to
beat about the bush like he used to. As a result of listening to me he will
know how to kick ass when ass needs to be kicked. I have weaned him away
from being a simpleton to being an intellectual.

on that account. The obnoxious Ed Dolan is possessed by a twisted
sense of self-importance. Bewitched by delusion, he is absorbed in
his own wayward drama. One thing can always be expected from him ...

I'll take that BUT as a concession from Mr. Dolan. How Ed's signature
has anything even remotely to do with this newsgroup is beyond me.
Ed's signature has absolutely nothing to do with this newsgroup and
stating that it does in no way, shape or form changes that
reality.

The purpose of my signature is to tell everyone HOW GREAT I AM! Most others
on these freaking newsgroups are just too stupid to ever come to that
conclusion on their own.

I am only on a very few threads. Does not a newsgroup pose the possibility
of an infinite number of threads? Hey, if others want to discuss the nuts
and bolts of recumbency, I will not interfere as I have no interest in that
subject.

That won't do any good unless and until he stops posting his occupation on
this newsgroup. It is one thing for bike shop owners or those somehow
connected with bicycles to post their occupation here, but all others should
forget about it.

crow about, but I think it is most likely something to be ashamed of. How do
you get to be so screwed up about things I wonder? To this very day I have

Please don't insult librarians by considering that Ed is a "retired
librarian." Ed merely obtained a degree in Library Science (or
whatever) and supposedly tried being a librarian in NYC. My guess is
that he was the laughing stock of whatever library was foolish enough
to hire him and was sent packing with his tale between his ingnorant,
arrogant legs to mommy and daddy in Worthington. Can you imagine the
ridicule he had to endure? I'd hate to think that because of my
inability to work and get along with others that I had to live my
remaining life through books. How lonely and delusional!

Please ... we college librarians are not accustomed to being criticized by
high school teachers. After all, if you had any self-respect you would have
at least advanced to junior college teaching. But you chose to limit
yourself to pupils instead of students.
I only stayed in libraries long enough to know what a dead end they are for
a genius such as myself. I will admit I spent any awful lot of years doing
nothing but reading books. But I also got out a bit in my 30's and saw
something of the country. In fact, for 10 solid years I did absolutely
nothing at all except travel about the country for 9 months out of the year.
There is just no place in America that I have not been to.
However, those years are long gone and I now devote all of my time to
contemplating my navel. This is in preparation for Death, the last truly
great unknown. I think it is the same after death as it was before you were
conceived and born. What do you think?
But why do others like Perry Butler of Fergus Falls, Minnesota envy hermits
such as myself. Yea - that is the question. I have always liked to be alone.
It is by choice, not necessity. Others bore me to tears with their trivial
concerns. In another age I would have been a contemplative monk, one who
never speaks or listens to anyone other than myself. I am kind of like God
that way I suppose.

Peter's signature is only comprised of informative factual contact
data ... name, job title, phone and FAX numbers, email address,
website, employers name address. How Mr. Dolan has managed to
misconstrue Peter's signature, devoid of a single adjective, as
denoting pretense utterly defies reason . Is it possible that the
retired librarian does not know the meaning of the word ... pretense?
Unlike Peters's signature, Mr. Dolan's none too "humble" and none too
"modest", self-aggrandizing signature contains two conspicuous, self-
serving adjectives that speak volumes about the ego-maniac ... SAINT
and GREAT.

The Great Ed Dolan is pleased to note that Mr. McNamara is finally beginning
