Here is what prompted this post:
By "Edward Dolan". These troll posts have been reported to: abuse@iw.net
along with full headers. I recommend all people who see "Edward Dolan's"
posts also email abuse@iw.net with similar complaints.

Who is this mouse Alan Erskine?
I will say this for the Aussies I have previously known via this newsgroup
(AB), they seem like real men to me and not mice. I am closer to them than
they realize. But I like verbal combat. Hey, you can call me an asshole, but
I will call you one back - only I will do it better than you because I am
more intelligent. Surely, that is fair!
I simply hate net nannies like this freaking Erskine. If you can't stand the
heat, get out of the kitchen. In all of my many years of posting to various
newsgroups I have only encountered one true troll on ARBR (Ed Gin). Trolls
are actually very rare on Usenet. Most are nothing but spammers.
The fact is that there is not one person in a thousand who knows what a
troll is. You think if someone is ever so slightly disagreeable, then he is
a troll. If and when you want to know what a troll is I will explain it to
you. I have never been a troll because I do not have the dumbness and the
perseverance for it. In short, I am way too lazy to ever be a troll.

And just where did I say that Tom Sherman appealed to me. You are
putting words in my mouth. If you want to know what I said, go back

Mr. Sherman is seldom inspired and so I know that is what appeals to you

A "good" troll is not really a troll at all. Even Jim McNaa should know
that much after having done battle with a real troll, Ed Gin, the only true
troll ARBR ever had.

Nope, wrong on all counts. I troll is non-responsive and simply blathers his
nonsense over and over and ignores everyone and everything. I am responsive
to every message. Therefore, I am not a troll. Jeez, even a dunce like Jim
McNaa ought to understand that!
What Jim and his ilk want is that you agree with them, or at the least meet
them halfway. But I have no patience for fools and idiots like him. He can
go his way to Hell and I will go my way.
The main problem that Jim McNamra has with me is that he is insanely
jealous. It is too bad as envy is the one vice that gives no pleasure. Jim
ought to cultivate a vice which will give him some pleasure.

I've had considerable success in eradicating several trolls with this
technique. However, the overriding thing to remember is "never feed the
troll" - don't respond to a troll's posts, but complain to their ISP as
often as it (the troll) posts.
