Indeed, it's not a race, a very slow ride for the first eight to fifteen miles (due to the logistics of 30K+ cyclists on one road), lots of kids and families and groups and clubs, extremely slow with back-ups and jams but great fun seeing so many fellow cyclists from nowhere!
