Well, here it is Easter Sunday and Saint Edward the Great is still alive and kicking. But I am down in the dumps because I have been such a bastard lately on these cycling newsgroups. You cannot be a Christian without believing in the greatest mystery of that faith which is the Resurrection. I have been an atheist since the age of 16, but I NEVER want to abandon my Christian upbringing. It is the only thing that saves me from perdition. I have no faith at all in any kind of secularism. I wish all the denizens of ARBR and RBM a Happy Easter! Let us resolve not be such bastards to one another. We shall all of us soon enough be dead and buried and it will not matter in the slightest what we said to one another. But maybe we could be kinder to one another. I am really feeling rather badly that I have not been more tolerant of others who disagree with me, whether about cycling or politics or anything else under the sun. I am especially feeling badly about my treatment of Jeff Grippe over the preceding many months. He was almost killed in a trike accident. He is now recovering nicely, but what if he had not? I would not want to go to my grave knowing that I had treated him badly and somewhat unfairly. Jeff Grippe is a secular NY Jew, the type I have always had extreme difficulties with. I just prefer the more orthodox variety of Jew who still retains some of his religious faith. Secular Jews are altogether too libidinous to suit me. But maybe that is just me. I am a Puritan. I always have been and I always will be. So, on this day of the greatest mystery of the Christian faith (of which I am no longer a member), let us bury some of these old hatchets which have forever plagued us here on these cycling newsgroups. We should try to be better than we are and the Resurrection is the perfect occasion on which to reflect on these insanities that we pursue on ARBR and RBM as if they mattered. In the end, all that matters is how we behave to one another. Regards, Ed Dolan the Great - Minnesota aka Saint Edward the Great - Order of the Perpetual Sorrows - Minnesota

My kill filter won't kill the message if 'Dolan' is in the body, only if it is FROM him. Damn, Bill Baka Time to start experimenting with my 'open source' Thunderbird and try to write a custom filter module. I don't know if he's worth it though.

I don't know if he's worth it though. It is really quite humorous that Bill Baka would want to kill file me when he is the most notorious and obnoxious poster of anyone to RBM. He pontificates on every subject under the sun without ever knowing what he is talking about. Such a stupid person I have never yet encountered on Usenet. He is in a class by himself, yet he does not want to see my posts. Does he even have an 8th grade education let alone a high school education? Go figure! In any event, nothing will stop me from taking this fool to the woodshed for a good whipping. Poor old Bill Baka is a working class stiff (like Tom Keats of the Vancouver docks) who is in way over his head when he chooses to tangle with the Great Ed Dolan. I will make short work of this dummy as he is not worth much bother at all. His every utterance is common place and nothing but tripe. I am surprised that the more intelligent denizens of RBM have put up with him as long as they have. By the way, kill filing will do him do him no good whatsoever. It will simply mean that I am free to comment on him and his despicable messages without having to bother with any response from him. So I win and he loses. But that is ever the way of kill filers. I do not think Bill Baka will enjoy what I am going to say about him on RBM, especially if he continues to think that Carter was a great president. If Bill Baka does want to become the laughing stock of RBM, he had best pay close attention to the messages of the Great Ed Dolan. However, I am not into invective to no purpose. Respond like a gentleman and I will do the same. Regards, Ed Dolan the Great - Minnesota aka Saint Edward the Great - Order of the Perpetual Sorrows - Minnesota

No, certain traditions counts enormously in the scheme of things. I will die for something I DON'T believe in if I think it redounds to the greater glory of mankind. I am not as selfish as a scoundrel like you thinks. Regards, Ed Dolan the Great - Minnesota aka Saint Edward the Great - Order of the Perpetual Sorrows - Minnesota

I assure you that when you are dead, you are quite dead. Yup, no heaven and no hell - just oblivion, the same as it was before you were conceived in your mother's womb.
