Subject: Ed Dolan the Great is Fed Up!

Why are these cycling newsgroups so worthless? Or is all of Usenet
worthless? I have never yet encountered a newsgroup that was worth the
powder to blow it up. If any of you know of any newsgroups that might be
worthy of the Great Ed Dolan, please let me know. I am going crazy with all
the idiots, morons and imbeciles of these cycling newsgroups.
I need a newsgroup that reeks of intelligence - something that can engage my
mind. I am sick and tired of expending nothing but invective on my inferiors
who are not worthy of me. Yea, I am Great, but surely there are others in
this world of Usenet who are up to my Greatness.
I do not want a newsgroup full of kooks, even though they may all have
genius IQs'. I do not like crazies. I want substantial men of the world who
know how to discuss things intelligently. I am sick and tired of the kind of
children you find on cycling newsgroups. Wouldn't you like to be rid of me
so you could go back to your childish babble uninterrupted by any glimmers
of intelligence? Of course you would. Children only like to be with other
children. So find me a newsgroup that is worthy of my Greatness.

I stand corrected about posting correctly. I must have slipped up.
Not using a newsreader, Google allows one to post correctly (according
to your mandate) for only the very first time, so you will just
continue to be disappointed. Get over it.
Your writing remains the standard, by whose measure ... YOURS??? Your
writing style is inimitable because no one desire to emulate you for
reasons that are self-explanatory.
I repeat, since this has not sunk into your thick skull the first
several dozen timed I said it ... I do not need your advice and I am
in no need of your opinion or your approval. I was not put on God's
green earth to live up to your expectations. Got it now ... brain
dead???
Ed, I think back when you were young (way ... way back), mommy and
daddy said that you could be whatever you wanted to be and you opted to
be an asshole. Now I've tried to see things from your point of view,
but I just can't get my head that far up my ass!!!

Well, finally JimmyMac is posting correctly!
Yes, my message was a throwaway post but that is because I am responding to
a throwaway post. When someone posts some substance, I will respond with
substance, but when others just post nonsense, then that is how I respond
myself. What the hell do you think k is doing except trying to tweak me?
So I tweak him back. Try to get real, why don't you?
My writing remains the standard by which all others should model themselves,
with or without the invective. Even Tom Sherman, as correct as he was, could
not come up to my inimitable style. I must confess, JimmyMac is getting
better and better lately. The one thing he needs to avoid at all costs is
wordiness - and long windedness in general. No one on these freaking
newsgroups will put up with long-windedness. That is because 90% of us are
idiots and cannot focus on anything for more than a few seconds.

A message to Usenet should be of a certain length, not too long and not too
short. k consistently posts too short. This makes him look like an idiot.
Whether he really is an idiot or not we will not know for sure until he
posts a medium length message. As it is, I have him down for a one-liner
type of idiot. Those who posts one-liners to Usenet are ipso facto idiots in
my scheme of things.

I stand by my contention that one-liners are ever the province of idiots.
k proves this every time he posts. I have never known anyone who was into
one-liners who did not prove himself to be an idiot. They all seem to have
so little to say - and yet want to say it anyway, just like a child or a
babbling baby.

Jim McNaa is the only long-winded poster these newsgroups have ever been
afflicted with. My posts are just the right length - something for everyone
to read and thereby get some enjoyment and inspiration to brighten up their
otherwise miserable humdrum lives.
You do not read the Great Ed Dolan for his content so much as you do for his
inimitable style. Once you have grasped that, you will see immediately
wherein my Greatness lies.The most common reaction to Ed Dolan the Great is

EVERYONE is unexceptional and mediocre. I thought that was common knowledge.
Some few men do have exceptional talents in one area or another, but over
all, all men are common. Yes, even the Great Beethoven was quite common in

Obedience is the one vow I can never take which is why I can never truly be
a Saint in the Holy Roman Catholic Church, the one and only true religion.
But other than that, I am a thousand times better than the common run of
humanity. I urge you to go back on this forum and read someone like Slugger
to know what I am talking about. Slugger was truly common without a trace of
any redeeming value. These newsgroups are chock full of characters like
Slugger. My type is actually quite rare.

That would be Sorni? Hells Bells, there is no one on RBM who is worthy of

PS. So, you are from Wisconsin? It is the greatest state of all for cycling.
Your bike trails are not as good as those in Minnesota, but your back roads
are ideal for cycling. I do not believe there is a better state in the
country for cycle touring. Even Greg LeMond agrees with me about this. He
thinks only Switzerland is better than Wisconsin, but screw those g.d.
mountains. Anyone who likes to bike in the mountains is a nut case - and
probably a liberal to boot.

are there for all the world to see in my every post.
I use my name because I stand by everything I say. I do not say things that
the anonymous slobs and cretins say and then run and hide like they do. I do
not hide behind user names either. If you want to be hidden, why not get
thee to a graveyard and die. The cemeteries are full of anonymous souls whom
no one knows. That is not for me. I want to be known. I am proud of my name
and I want to shove it down every possible throat in the known universe.
I find it impossible to treat those who do not use their real names with
anything but contempt. I truly do not understand why anyone would want to
hide their name unless they are engaged in criminal activity. Our names are

It greatly amuses someone as Great as I am that Jeff Grippe would take

Flabby was a very minor troll that ARBR had to put up with for a few years.
He delighted in tweaking recumbent riders at how slow we were compared to
upright racers like him. God, you have no idea how tiresome it got, but
still Flabby was harmless and it was all done in good fun. Tom Sherman used
to love to tweak him back, but that is because Mr. Sherman had a very
juvenile sense of humor himself.
Needless to say, when the Great Ed Dolan came along all such frivolity came
to a screeching halt. That is because the Great Ed Dolan is a very serious
person indeed and HE will brook no nonsense whatsoever. I am never in the
least bit humorous. I spend all my time thinking on misery and death and I

Poor Fab is now showing his true colors, but I always knew he was an idiot
from day one. All one note Johnnies are idiots and the one and only subject
on his pea size brain lately is wanking. Formerly his only subject was going
fast on his freaking bike. He has a very small brain which accounts for all
his wrong notes.

Why not leave and raise the IQ level of this group? Why don't you start
your own newsgroup, you can brag on yourself all day, answer yourself,
correct yourself, and everyone will be happy. After all, talking to
yourself is really the only way you can find someone worthy of your
expectations, because you are not impressing anyone around here.

Say something noteworthy I will be there for you. Say something stupid and I
will be there for that too, but at an appropriately lower level. I will not
carry anyone else's water for them. To reap a great response from Ed Dolan
the Great you have to say something great yourself.
Also, I do not bother much with those who do not use their real names. Those
who hide behind user names are beneath contempt and that is how I treat
them - with contempt.

Nope, little old "di" is not capable of writing anything that anyone other
than an idiot would want to read. Why doesn't he find others who are on his
low level? ARBR and RBM are full of his type. Why does he want to engage the
Great Ed Dolan?
Maybe if and when he gets a real name, we will have something to talk about.
But I imagine he does not want to use his real name because it is most
