I know all I will ever want to know about recumbents and so there is no point in hanging out on this freaking newsgroup any further. I am only being saddled with all the idiots and morons anyway of which all newsgroups are mostly composed. Any of you who think it is worthwhile to post to ARBR have rocks in your head. There is no greater waste of time than bothering with Usenet. It is for imbeciles. I shall now only commune with myself as I should have done in the first place. My Greatness is not for the midgets and dwarfs of Usenet. I leave you to yourselves. May you all fornicate with one another until kingdom come and thereafter burn in everlasting hellfire! -- Ed Dolan the Great - Minnesota aka Saint Edward the Great - Order of the Perpetual Sorrows - Minnesota

I used to know how to post via Google, but I had forgotten how after using my Outlook Express newsreader for a couple of years. It seems to post properly via Google website that you have to do a lot of copying and pasting in your reply. I will only use Google as a back up when my OE newsreader is all screwed up. I sometimes wonder if others have as much trouble with their computers as I do. I note that when I take my computer into the shop for a repair, that I cannot get it back for less than $100. Hells Bells! I am spending more on these freaking computers than I ever spent on my bikes. Ed Dolan the Great - Minnesota

However, I have determined to turn over a new leaf and to try to curb my nastiness, even though many on this group constantly conspire to bring it out. It is not easy to lose old habits honed by years of constant battle here on ARBR, most especially when I am being baited all the time by the likes of Guy Chapman of England. He knows I am of Irish ancestry, so we are off to a bad start right there - he of the stiff upper lip and of somewhat dour disposition and I of delightful Irish lightness and something of a joyful gadfly. I wonder, do the Irish in England get along with the English, or is it constant warfare and unpleasantness like it is here on ARBR? I have never yet hit it off with a single Englishman. As a lurker, I have to admit I find the histrionics of all the comings and goings as entertaining as an old-time soap opera. All the melodramatic farewells, weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth, all the bitter rejoinders and falling upon spears. "No, really. You guys have <pissed me off / gotten my goat / shit in my messkit > for the last time. I'm leaving. No, really. I'm REALLY leaving. That's right. Goodbye. This is it. I warned you. You can't talk me out of it. That's right. "I'm already gone. And I'm feelin' strong. "I'd rather clean out all of the toilets in Grand Central Station With my tongue, Than to spend One More Minute With you..." Then Don Pardo's resonant voice-over says, "Does he REALLY mean it? Is Guy REALLY going to leave? Is Ed truly Dead? Tune in tomorrow to find out! And now here's a word from this week's sponsor, Gleem toothpaste". To all the participants in the Final Freaking Farewell Circle Jerk and Taffy-Pulling Society I say: stand not upon the order of your going, but go at once. You're all nuttier than squirrel shit.

But no, instead they have to make announcements, just like you have now. I think we all know who are the jerks and the dorks. Peter, meet Guy. Guy, meet Peter. Try to act like a man occasionally instead of whimpering like a woman all the time, why don't you! You are starting to remind me more and more of old Cletus Lee from Texas. Before you know it, you will start to remind me of Jon Meinecke, the biggest weasel ARBR has ever been saddled with. By the way, I limit myself to just a few threads always. This thread is all about me and so of course I am going to post to it until kingdom come (see the subject thread title). My main function here on ARBR is as a housekeeper. That is essentially what all librarians do and it just comes naturally to me (I was a college librarian in another lifetime). Ed Dolan - Minnesota PS. I wonder if Guy is a medical physics IT officer like Peter. If he is, would he please tell me what it is that a medical physics IT officer does. I am dying to know, but Peter won't tell me and I am too proud to ever look up shit like this.

I am presently using the Google Groups web site and my posts seem to be all screwed up. It even apears that I may be top posting! Perish the thought. Also, no more spell check. I wonder if it is possible to get a spell check that will work when you are on a web site like Google Groups. >Only a "childish" liar like you would call himself GOD. It is all part of my self parody, something you have never understood. But keep on with the liar bit. That is something you would know all about since it is your chief claim to fame on this group. >It's obvious who needs to "grow up a bit and lose his childish defense mechanisms." When was the last time you didn't get the last defensive word in; I can't recall a time. You are the King of Defense! I resolved from day one that I was never going to let idiots get the last word with me, even if I have to stoop to their abysmal low level. Too bad you had to learn this the hard way. >PS, being a "fellow Minnesotan" has nothing to do with my distain for people like you who lie. Distain should be disdain. Here is Perry Butler at his best. He has no loyalty to fellow Minnesotans and he reverts to his custoy name calling at the drop of a hat. But Minnesota is full of slobs like him. They aspire to the middle class but never quite get there. Upper class genteel snobs like me are beyond him. I ought to be living on the Upper East Side of Manhattan where I would only consort with my peers, not low lifes like Perry Butler. There, instead of wasting my time posting to this freaking newsgroup, I could be attending concerts, operas and ballets and pursuing the intellectual and artistic life. GOD

Why would any recumbent cyclist bother with other cycling groups. They are all equally crazy. Newsgroups are just chock full of idiots and morons, devils and scoundrels. That is the very definition of a newsgroup. If you want to hone in on a particular subject at least half way seriously then you will have to go to a moderated forum. There is no other way. Any Usenet group will have characters like me who will take you on for no reason at all. If you enjoy conflict and a certain minimal nastiness, then Usenet is the place to go. If you only want harmony and peace, then you should go to a moderated forum. There you can discuss presta valves vs. schraeder valves and other such esoteric subjects to your heart's content. But here on ARBR, you can count on being confronted by the likes of me and Tom Sherman and many others. We are all devils and we mean to make your newsgroup life exciting if nothing else. We should be charging for our services, but we give freely from the largess of our hearts. You should all relax and enjoy the experience. After all, it is only words that are at play. Mr. Sherman is quite mistaken to confuse "Johnny" with Fabrizio. Fab was truly nothing but a humorous troll, but "Johnny" was something else altogether. He was in fact a criminal vandal troll. I continue to be extremely angry at Mr. Sherman for not knowing the difference between the two. GOD

You will get nowhere by talking about "fucking" all the time. Please note that I talk about what I want to talk about, not what you want to talk about. Therefore I am not a troll. You are nothing but an excuse for me to say whatever I want to say to this freaking newsgroup. You continue to top post which is ever the hallk of an idiot. Enuf said on that particular issue. Even Tom Sherman, the main guru of this newsgroup, agrees with me on that. RDS is a foul mouth idiot and so he surely belongs on this newsgroup as that is what it mostly consists of - foul mouth idiots. Maybe RDS could enage Slugger in a conversation. They could discuss all about fucking. Then Wayne Logo, the Poet of Shit and Cum, could enter into the conversation by putting their thoughts into verse. That would be ARBR in its full glory. GOD

Perry Butler is a liberal himself so he didn't mind it, but many of the rest of us did. For most of the others, it goes right over their heads. They do not have even a clue. Perry Butler is not a bad bloke, but he is mired in conventional thinking. Any intelligent person will realize that I am not only a GOD but extremely intelligent. But I realize I am throwing pearls before swine. That is the nature of ARBR. By the way, a very interesting phenomenon is that you only need to get the first letter and the last letter of a word correct in order for others to read what you have written with perfect understanding. In any event, I have decided that a concern for perfectly accurate spelling is the province of small minds. GODS like me are beyond such mundane concerns. GOD

Wayne LoGo, the Poet of Shit and Cum, has never had his comeuppance I suspect. But that is what I am here for. Now that I have become a GOD I shall endeavor to show him his proper station in life. It is infintely below me of course, but he is even lower than Slugger. He was given a talent and he misuses it by writing about shit and cum. All true poets write about love and death. His depravity in this regard is most deplorable. All he needs is some virtue to realize his potential as an artist. Failing all else, he could at least read the New Testament and perhaps become a Christian. Then he would no longer devote his life to writng about shit and cum like a barbarian pagan. GOD

It is ever my pleasure to insult those who think abortion (the murder of the innocents) is just fine and dandy. I expect any day to see Jeff Grippe in favor of murdering children, even though they are outside the womb. That is the logic of this moral cretin. Wayne Logo (Wayne Leggit), the Poet of Shit and Cum, will not treat Jeff Grippe any better than he treated me. That is because he is a scoundrel and and does not have any morality at all other than the morality of a hippy-yippy shithead. Their kind were legion back in the 60's. Wayne LoGo, the Poet of Shit and Cum, will write his excreble verse to suit himself. He will not take my advice that he should only write about love and death like all good poets do. GOD

I AM judgemental as befits a GOD like me. All liberals are moral imbeciles for sure. They do not know how to think about the simplest of things, let alone how to come to moral judgements about anything. Jeff Gripp epitomizes for me the quandry of the intelligent Jew who is ever at sea about how to think about things. I do not know how you get to be so stupid, yet retain an element of intelligence. Maybe someone could explain this phenomenon to me. I am intolerant of evil and stupidity and inferior cultures and religions. That is why I am a GREAT GOD. I will have no false gods before me. GOD

Nget is the only one posting to this thread who has any brains. Slugger is the typical ARBR poster, a bona fide idiot and moron for sure (although I know he knows a lot about computers). Wayne Leggit, the Poet of Shit and Cum, is not so easily classified. He is infintely worse than Slugger. That is because he has glimmers of intelligence, but he constantly reverts to the most retrograde depravity. Slugger I can accept for what he is; but Wayne LoGo, the Poet of Shit and Cum, is beneath contempt. More is expected of those with intelligence. GOD

Yes, anyone who does not agree with me is not only a moron and an idiot, but a low life and a scoundrel. That is because I have become a GOD. I expect you and all the other low lifes that populate ARBR to show a due deference to my magnificence. If you cannot agree with me, then at least have the good grace to shut up. Beware of offending ME. I have lightning bolts in reserve to strike you dead! GOD

Can anyone in their right mind plow through this piece of garbage. Wayne LoGo, the Poet of Shit and Cum, should stick to verse and leave the prose to those of us who know how to write it. Even Tom Sherman, as constipated as he is most of the time, knows how to write simple prose a thousand times better than this nitwit of verse, otherwise known as Wayne Leggit. GOD

Furthermore, he was vile in every sense of the word. But leave it to a liberal no-nothing like yourself to be a moral imbecile. I have now become a GOD and will behave accordingly. All the dwarfs and midgets of ARBR will be nothing but grist for my mill. Ed Dolan the Great and Saint Edward the Great are now history. Those designations were for my more modest career here on ARBR. Now this group will get nothing but thunderbolts from on high. We GODS will brook no opposition or disagreement whatsoever. It is either submit or perish. This group is fortunate indeed to be visited by such an august GOD as myself. GOD

Geez, I come back after a couple years and Ed is still in the process of leaving? Too bad; he's funny once you understand that he's so over the top that he could not be serious. So, you laugh with him. If he _is_ really serious, then you laugh _at_him. Either way, it's a giggle. Anyone who can create a persona and maintain it for so long and so consistently has to be reasonably intelligent. Tom Thompson

Hey gang - In reply to the originator of this thread, Jeff wrote, simply, but still apparently confusing one simpleminded reader: >Bye. Should that have been: 'Bye, NGET[1]; hello again, nget'? How odd that as the NGET is at long, long last leaving us (perhaps!), nget has gnow suddenly become much more prolific than he/she/it/they has/have been in months. It is interesting to look back over the apparent relationship between nget and the NGET. The nget persona "hides behind" a user gname and webposts at ARBR via Cycling Forums (making his/her/its/their actual email address obscure at best). He/she/it/they would seem to be an uneducated common laborer who has set gnew standards for wretched formatting of messages and misspelling, as well as gram and punctuation errors. Aren't those all things the NGET has repeatedly declared he despises, and for which he has (way too often!) damned and demeaned most other ARBR posters? Yet nget and the NGET have constantly, consistently remained a mutual admiration society all year, much thicker than Beavis and Butthead, eagerly striving side by side to battle top posters, liberals, one other particularly prolific person and a poopy poet, as well as all recklessly racing recumbent cyclists - especially the gnotoriously evil Johnny GnoCom. Is it profound, mysterious or merely 'sui generis'[2] that these two posters, as different as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde could have so much in common - well, sort of like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde? So much alike and yet so different, almost as if those differences were a conscious effort... Is it possible that the NGET has actually tried to come through on one of his 'promises'? Remember this from the 'Milestone... Appoaching [sic]' thread?: >I am planning to change my persona on this newsgroup >in the very near future as well as my email >address... Stayed [sic] tuned! Following Ed Gin's example, I am hereby offering $10 for firm proof that nget and the NGET are gnot the same person. Unlike Mr. Gin, however, I will be very explicit about what is required: copies of birth certificates for both 'persons' mailed directly from the state or national agencies, and complete info for at least one credit card for each (type, number, the 3-digit code on rear, expiration date and current billing address). But, hey, does anybody really care who or what nget is as long as he/she/it/they makes a gnominal effort to be reasonably gnice? [1]: NGET is a (perhaps oxymoronically unpronounceable) anagram for: Nasty, Gratingly Egregious TROLL [2]: M-W lists 'peculiar' as a synonym for this Latin phrase. Regards, Wayne [gnot Tom, in spite of the footnotes!]
