Subject: M5, EuroMesh, or ReCurve Seat?
Some three years ago I purchased my Strada with the optional fiberglass
M5 seat. With the proper adjustment, I have found it to be fairly
comfortable. Now comes the but.... It is NOT breathable! On a hot
summer ride, I will generate enough sweat between my back and my seat
that it will pool up at the bottom. I have drilled additional holes
for drainage. Last year at BROL's ride in NY I rode k Colliton
Strada with the new EuroMesh seat (standard on the Corsa). It's very
nice..... Any thoughts on the EuroMesh vs the standard Recurve?

Thanks for the insight Hull.... I am leaning strongly to replacing my
M5 fiberglass seat with the Euromesh.

I rode the Euromesh and the standard recurve on my test rides. I fin
the standard seat a little bigger on the seat so have to plant my leg
a tiny bit further apart when stopping

The recurve seems to absorb bumps better, and the mesh back is LOT
cooler which is very important to me, living in the South. So,
ordered my Strada with the recurve mesh

The "airflow" cushions available on many European recumbents these days
aren't a complete solution, but they are a definite improvement. With
the better support of a hard shell my personal favoured setup is a hard
seat with an airflow cushion.
