Excuse me for interrupting the Dolan raves to ask something related to
this group.

As a California transplant, Davis seems to be quite the bicycle
paradise (albiet they do need
to better consider pedestrians and others). I'm looking for a shop
that enjoys working and has
the expertise for recumbents.

Thanks.

It does not appear to be anywhere near Sacramento.

Any good recumbent shops near Sacramento or Davis. I have no desire
to take
excessively long automobile drives.

BTW, Sacramento has some of the most wonderful places to ride, along
the
American River Parkway. Miles of great bicycle paths along the
American River from
Folsom to downtown Sacramento.

There's got to be a great shop in Northern California, the Sacramento
area.

Too many uncontrolled and unknown variables to be meaningful.

Put the same rider on the bikes with calibrated power measuring cranks
and see which one is faster for a given power under the same
conditions.

The fact that it was claimed to be the fastest bike in the known universe
(not stock class, fastest period) indicates it should have no problems
dusting any other bike regardless what race it is participating in. So far
it's batting 0 in RAAM

Yes, Max gave me a hell of a good run around White Rock

Frm the data it appears it was faster as the NoCom riders managed to
recover from several crashes compared to the Bacchetta team's zero and
still catch up. And in some places they were faster.

So sans crash I'd say the NoCom was faster.

"Fast and stays upright" was not in the original claim.

My guess is the Baccetta riders slowed down so they could catch up

Mark Lueck can say this because he never came under direct attack from the
criminal vandal troll known as Johnny NoCom - Ed Gin. Tom Sherman enabled
this criminal conduct on this newsgroup and it is why I have such contempt
for him. Only Jim McNamara, I and a very few others ever stood up to this
criminal vandal troll to defend the ARBR cycling newsgroup.

It was a revelation to me how one criminal vandal troll can totally ruin a
newsgroup and how others can stand by and let it happen. It is also why to
this day I have nothing but the greatest contempt for any such newsgroups
which will not defend themselves against such criminals.

It is easy to be a criminal and not so easy to be law abiding when
confronted by criminals.

Ed Dolan the Great - Minnesota
aka
Saint Edward the Great - Order of the Perpetual Sorrows - Minnesota

PS. Tom Sherman's liberalism does not offend me nearly so much as does his
cowardice in the face of a criminal vandal troll like Johnny NoCom - Ed Gin.
Jim McNamara, despite his other faults, at least has a backbone.

PS2. So why is this shit being posted to the other cycling newsgroups?
Because you need to know about criminal vandal trolls like Johnny NoCom - Ed
Gin and how to deal with them!

Hey, I thought the Johnny NoCom posts were just for fun. Of course, it
is silly to put "Johnny" in front of the name of one's favorite bicycle
and use it as a Usenet name. ;)

P.S. My favorite bicycle is the Earth Cycles Sunset.

Tom Sherman of course has a guilty conscience about how he enabled a
criminal vandal troll on ARBR by not speaking up. If and when a criminal
vandal troll shows up again on ARBR I will expect him to be a man and not a
mouse.

Tom Sherman for years was the main stay of this group (ARBR) and when a main
stay does not have anything to say when a criminal vandal troll shows up it
means the group is not worth the powder to blow it up. Everyone on the group
knew it was Ed Gin who was despoiling it. He did it by being a criminal. It
was anything but good clean fun. Funny how only Jim McNamara and I seemed to
know this. Maybe if Ed Gin had attacked Tom Sherman personally he would not
be so forgiving.

It amazes me how criminal vandal trolls can be given any respect at all. It
is easy to get a proxy address so you can't be traced and to forge names
when posting to Usenet. Don't think I could do this if I wanted to? Think
again, but then I am not criminal like Ed Gin. I stand behind everything I
say and I use my real name and address. How many of you can say the same?

Souza proved it to my satisfaction in a message of his to ARBR. He traced
the message via its properties. Furthermore, Jim McNamara is THE expert on
Ed Gin. He knew him personally and so has very much credibility on the
subject. Whatever he says about him goes for me.

It does you no good to be posing this question over and over. You were
silent when Ed Gin destroyed this newsgroup. I do not fault you overly much
for your loyalty to a friend, but you should have exhibited some loyalty to
a newsgroup which you had been posting to for several years. The fact is
that you didn't. Your silence was deafening. I can't forget nor forgive it.

As you may surmise, I have a sort of love-hate relationship to this
newsgroup, ARBR, but I will defend it when a criminal vandal troll shows up
and seeks to destroy it. If you had weighed in when it counted it is likely
that the group would not only have survived, but prospered. Instead, you
were silent. As a result, the group is not what it was. In fact, it is now a
ghost of its former self. It is very odd to me that you do not feel some
responsibility for the present sad state of affairs.

Regards,

Ed Dolan the Great - Minnesota
aka
Saint Edward the Great - Order of the Perpetual Sorrows - Minnesota

PS. The reason why I am now posting to multiple cycling newsgroups is to
help ARBR. The other cycling groups are mostly healthy, but not ARBR. We
here at ARBR welcome any and all postings of whatever nature.

Why does Mr. Sherman concern himself with speed on a recumbent? He is as
slow as molasses and has never been known to go fast in his entire life. In
fact, he is your original slowpoke. Only I, the Great Ed Dolan, know how to
go slower than him.

OTOH Sean the Costinator Costin broke Francis Faure's unfaired one hour
record set in 1933 on June 6 2007, riding his NoCom, the fastest unfaired
recumbent in the known universe, to a new record after 73 years of 28.459
miles.
