better retort than your childish and tiresomely limited "I know you are

Hmmm. Both obsessive personalities, both looking to take over the

My God! I don't give a damn about this group. Not anymore, not since Ed Gin
can come on here and does whatever he wants with nary a protest from the
rest of you. ARBR is fucked and in fact all of Usenet is fucked. Moderated
forums are the only way to go where assholes like Ed Gin can be excluded
with his forged names and his automated trolling posts. But Guy Chapman is
an idiot himself for not recognizing the difference between myself and Ed
Gin. But that is all newsgroups for you - full of idiots and assholes.

Fucking Adios!

one hand those of you who are intelligent. Skip always displays good

solid thinking with a sharp wit thrown in for good measure. Scott

(Freewheeling) is an intellectual and a good writer. Jim McNaa has

also proven to me that he is both intelligent and right on all the present

issues. The rest of you are idiots. I leave the lot of you to the likes of

Ed Gin, Tom Sherman, Jon Meinecke, Slugger, Disco Duck, k

Leuck, Peter Clinch, Guy Chapman, Perry Butler, etc.

I have yet to see a newsgroup that was not being ruined by idiots. If

you hang out in a newsgroup, you should have your head examined. It

is nothing but a waste of time and a form of insanity. I don't give a shit

about any of you (a few exceptions) and why I ever wasted a single

second on any of you is beyond belief. I must have been crazy.

Anyone with any brains who has something to say should be on a

moderated forum where assholes and shit heads (like Ed Gin) can be

excluded. That is all newsgroups are full of. It is only dumbbells,

cowards and crazies who do not want their messages to pass the

scrutiny of an editor. I leave you to yourselves. You are all a bunch of

Guy, I am merely contentious and I love to argue. I read what others write
and I answer appropriately. Ed Gin is a parrot who spews nothing but garbage
and nonsense. But worse than that, he is a criminal who steals other's
identities. He hides behind sock puppets. He is reprehensible in every sense
of the word. I do not see any similarities at all between myself and Ed Gin.

By the way, you and Tom Sherman and everyone else here on ARBR are OK with
me as all of you have been honest and above board no matter our
disagreements. You can see what precious qualities these are when you find
them lacking in a scoundrel like Ed Gin.

And how many people have left the group because of the OT political
"get the retaliation in first" stuff you post? In the end it's the
effect, not the style, which matters: does someone's contribution make
the group better or worse. Admittedly with you it goes in phases -
sometimes you are responsible for up to half the posts in the group,
and almost none of them are on topic, while at other times the group
can go up to a couple of days (hah!) without a single off-topic post.
When you get bad I use Agent's "k read" filter with a 30-day
expiry, that

But he is, in the end, a drive-by poster. He will vanish again in
short order, as usual.

Does anyone here know what this idiot is talking about?

Whether the posts are on topic or off topic does not matter. If others are
responding, that is all that matters. If you only knew how deadly dull your
on topic posting is you would get off topic more like me.

That is not for sure Guy. You need to resolve on how to deal with assholes
like Ed Gin if they don't go away. Jim McNaa and I fight assholes like Ed
Gin. Your position regarding obnoxious posters (they will go away if we
ignore them) is cowardly and doomed to failure in the event they don't go
away. No, it is better to fight them tooth and nail even if it takes down
the newsgroup. I have always despised cowards. Armageddon is better than
compromise with evil.

This will probably turn out to be the longest goodbye in Usenet history. I
am determined to leave as there are just not enough intelligent folks here
for me. Those that are half way intelligent turn out to be cowards when it
comes to a criminal type like Ed Gin. Cowards and idiots! That is what ARBR
is full of. At least you summoned up enough guts to call Ed Gin an ass
(arse).

But I do not like to leave with loose ends dangling. Once I have tied up the
loose ends, I assure you I will be gone from here never to return.

Nget, you have put your finger on what is wrong with most of society today.
Expertise will substitute for morality every time these days. It is about a
thousands times more important that a person be moral than that he know
anything, let alone some cycling crap. Ed Gin is nothing short of a
criminal. Anyone who cannot determine that from his posts is an idiot, but
still I prefer moral idiots to intelligent criminals. Tom "Holier than Thou"
Sherman in the last analysis will bail out on the morality issue when push
comes to shove. Never, never trust a coward!

Ed Gin is a criminal if we can judge him by his posts to this newsgroup. You
would be well advised to keep your distance from him. Just because someone
can tinker with bikes does not make him respectable. What makes a person
respectable is how he treats others. Ed Gin is contemptible on all counts.
Read his posts to this group if you think otherwise (Johnny NoCom shit and
other false names too numerous to keep track of).

Johnny could be an alter-ego of Ed, has anyone thought of that?

Figure it this way, Ed talks about everything BUT riding and claims to have
dozens of bikes laying around the house when we can pretty much assume he
doesn't. Johnny talks ONLY about bike(s) and seems to have just the one

Ed's bi-polar if you ask me :)

I certainly could be wrong on this but I see plenty of reasons why Ed
doesn't have either bikes or trikes although that may not be obvious to
others here.

To name a few of them

1. 99% of Ed's conversation has nothing to do with bikes or riding, you
can't say that about anyone else here

2. Ed has only talked about riding once as long as I've been here (and
claimed riding at 3mph, you try that sometime), in the rare event he
mentions bikes his conversation is usually too absurd to believe

3. Ed claims to have a dozen bikes laying around the house yet can't say
what they are or exactly how many he has although somehow he can claim they
all have terrible steering geometry

4. No conversation of links of rides, pictures, events, brand of tires he
uses/used etc

Now others may disagree and I'm sure Ed will now make up much of the
information I just posted here that he's never talked about before but it is
my belief he doesn't own and never has owned a recumbent, my guess is he's
seen a couple around town and thought they were interesting and he's come
here much like someone might see Britney Spears on TV and then check out
websites devoted to her

I also don't think Johnny lives in his parents basement only because I doubt
they would put up with him :)

Newsgroups are for idiots!

I'm outa here. Newsgroups are for idiots. I can count on the fingers of

one hand those of you who are intelligent.

You are all a bunch of

crazy bastards who deserve one another. May you all fuck one

another until kingdom come.

<Plonk > to the lot of you.

In defense of Ed I think you are wrong.

From my observation Ed tells it as he sees its. Very little subtly, very
little shading, no mincing of words, no apparent hidden agendas - what you
get is unvarnished Ed Dolan. Why would he lie about owning bicycles? It's
not his style.

I think writing about riding a bicycle would be to bland for Ed's mind. I
can't see Ed going into great detail explaining to some newbie how to repair
a flat. That's not what Ed wants to do or write about.

Riding at 3 mph isn't absurd. I rode up a mountain at 2 mph on my Ryan. I
can do it. Ed owns trikes - It's real easy to ride them at 3 mph.

I've got a barn that hasn't been used for farming or livestock for years.
It has come to store my stuff - an old corvette, a vintage truck, a bunch of
kayaks and canoes, skis, motorcycles(all gone now), and more bicycles than I
can remember. I can relate.

>

Ed has mentioned plenty of organized rides he has been on. At age 70 he may
not be doing them now, but he has been there and done that in my estimation.
I think he leaves writing about bicycle tires to Tom Sherman who is into
it.

Ed said he owns a couple of recumbents that I would guess hardly anyone has
ever heard of (Tom Sherman & John Riley surely have) - for example, a Kowal
and a Coos Bay Flyer. I happen to know about them - about 15 to 20 years
ago they were a mere blip on the recumbent radar screen. You won't find
websites dedicated to these machines.

k I think the Barbara Boxer in you is trying to get out.

I doubt we ever get the real Ed, in my opinion he flame posts here just to
get a reaction, if he doesn't get the reaction he wants he'll flame a little
deeper, that is his agenda and it has nothing to do with recumbents

Anyone who can't see the difference between me and Ed Gin is just too stupid
for words. I can't be bothered anymore by idiots like Leuck who does not
even know how to punctuate a sentence.

As I said I don't believe Ed has a hidden agenda. Given that you see his
agenda as having nothing to do with recumbents, why would he bother to tell
lies about the recumbents he owns or doesn't own. It clearly wouldn't be
relevant to the agenda you attribute to him.

And why would he even want to bother with that kind of distraction? It's
not his manner.

I don't see evidence of lying or motive for lying. And I don't see the
relevance of your argument.

going to waste mental energy on a shit head like Ed Gin. I will just do copy
and paste crap like he does. I will keep it nasty and repetitive and stupid
which is all that matters to me. The main effect of it will be to keep
newbies away. It will kill ARBR, but who gives a damn. Mr. Sherman doesn't,
you don't, so why should I.

Ed Gin is a Mongoloid idiot and has shit for brains. What league are you
talking about? Yup, I am not in that league, but maybe you are.
