It has come to my attention via email I've been the topic of discussion
for the past few weeks on this group. And the posts have come from
priily two sources, Jimmy McNamera and Ed Dolan.

Because I've kill filed these two out of choice, the vast majority of
their contentions are unread and not a concern for me, the few times I
check the group. I have however been able to ascertain some kind of
contention that I have been posting via responses from others "quoting"
their allegations.

Let me state at this time I have NOT posted nor authored any information
on this board for some time. The private e-mail I received came from
local Monkey Island riders using a "Newsfeeds" ISP notifying me how I've
been falsely accused of ruining ARBR and as such THEY have revealed to
me who the true responsible parties are.

Post this holiday season, I've enjoyed a wonderful trip to California
for my annual hiatus culminating in over 2,000 miles of spectacular
riding from San Diego to Santa Barbara including some terrific mountain
climbing in the Angeles National Forests. Luckily my timing was perfect
as I missed a couple of good snowfalls. Unfortunately, the past 2
weeks I've had to resort to riding a wedgie to safely navigate the roads
in Chicago. Yesterday I went back to my Festina lowracer and hammered
out my typical 50 mile day and compared it to a previous session on the
upwrong.

From the best I can tell, for the same exertion effort, I can ride
twice as far and feel better especially in the posterior area at the end
of the ride. The greatest disadvantage for the wedgie was into
headwinds as speeds are nearly half what I crank out on the lowracer.
Today we have a new dusting of snow, the Festina will have to wait for
better conditions, DRAT!

Regarding all the inaccurate posts and false contentions, I'd be happy
to discuss them via personal email though I'd rather discuss other
pertinent on topic issues. One final word, Mr. Dolan/McNamera need not
inquire as they've resided in my personal kill file for some time now.

I'll be heading out soon for my 2nd hiatus to CA. This is turning out
to be a spectacular riding season! If you guys can find some time, get
out, smell the fresh air.

Hi Bill,

One question? I'm planning to do the Orange County to Solana Beach trip
and wondering if travel through Camp Pendleton is available yet? Not
looking forward to the short ride on I-5 even with the wide shoulders.

Thanks for your support. Hope you find sellers for the remaining bikes?

Well thank you, Bill, for clearing all this up. I'm glad we have your word
on it that Ed (whoever that is) isn't Johnny NoComprehension (whoever that
is).

Just got back from a bike ride. But your suggestion to take a bike ride was
a good one, at least in my case, since it's a sunny day in the mid fifties
hereabouts.

I'm in Middle Tennessee where we/ve had a warm winter. Someone told me it
would be 70 tomorrow. At months end I'll be spending some time in Northern
Fla. looking for some warm sun.

I lived through 10 years of New England winters including the worst blizzard
in their history so consider my cold weather dues paid up for a long time to
come.

It was a great day here too and my ride was ok considering the many lo
trucks that stir up alot of road dust.A few days ago I got behind on
truck on the trike and was drafting him at close to 30mph until he go
too far out ahead

Ed Gin,

You wrote ... "Running out now for a quick 50 miler "recovery" ride
from yesterday's century" ... just another characteristic, tradek
... I don't get nearly enough attention ... look at me ... aren't I
wonderful ... diversionary post. At least the pretentious Ed Gin has,
for the most part, refrained from his "imitation is the sincerest form
of flattery", plagiaristic cookie cutter posts.

As for Ed's advice to the readership ... "Killfiling is the
methodology to purge newsgroups of those nuisances" ... Ed Gin would
love for you to do just that so that he can continue to post his crap
with no fear of rebuttal or no fear of you reading it at least.

Ed you have the audacity to refer to Ed Dolan and myself a nuisance.
You are the consummate ... the quintessential nuisance ... or like I
said in the past ... you are an unscrupulous, slimy, bottom feeding
troll ... an oozing festering, canker on the hide of Internet forums.

MG,

Proud to be Ed's friend you say? Well, one is judged by the company
they keep and I suppose there's no accounting for taste. Here's a
little advice. Don't ever become and ex-fiend like me or Gary Brown or
you will see an entirely different side of the man you are proud to
call a friend. I cite the following posts as examples:

http://groups-beta.google.com/group/rec.bicycles.tech/browse_thread/thread/158724efe381e84b/b4bd7385e42ef0d6?q=Ed+Gin&_done=%2Fgroups%3Fq%3DEd+Gin%26&_doneTitle=Back+to+Search&&d#b4bd7385e42ef0d6

As you read the text, also take note of the signature ... and you call
someone like this a friend? Ed Gin claims that what is posted in
newsgroups, is eventually forgotten. In reality, what is posted on
newsgroups is archived and is NEVER forgotten.

About those posts of which you say ... "so what". Lies aside, how
would you feel if someone said that you butt fuck your mother? Would
you say "so what" to this person who you are proud to call friend?
When posts are riddled with lies and vulgarity, they are more that
"about nothing". Granted, if some of these posts were made at
BROL, those involved would have their accounts terminated, but that
wouldn't be limited to Mr. Dolan and me. How long do you think
Ed-JohnnyNoCom-Gin would last? How many of his nonsensical and obscene
posts would be welcome on BROL? I have never been disbarred from a
moderated forum. Ed Gin cannot say the same. The only reason why Ed
Dolan and I have posted here rather than BROL should be so obvious as
not to require an explanation, however, since you are having a such
great deal of difficulty comprehending such a simple concept, allow me
to spell it out for you. The reason Mr. Dolan and myself are here is
because this is where the troll Ed Gin has taken up residence. In
other words, only in an unmoderated forum can Ed Gin spew his bullshit
without being shown the door. It is Ed Gin who has chosen the field of
battle so that is where he must be confronted. Just what don't you
understand about that?

Hey Magilla,

Haven't heard from you for some quite time. With time, whatever is
posted in the manner Mr. Dolan/McNamera chooses is forgotten and ignored.
Killfiling is the methodology to purge newsgroups of those nuisances.

How's your son's competitive scheduling coming along for 2005? I'd like
to see him in action afterall, his sport is the "rave" currently.

I've confirmed another member of our group is just completing his NoCom
buildup. You've got to see this beauty! the rear caliper brake assembly
is hidden inside the rear stays completely out of the pertinent
airstream. Kamil's production processes and detailing never ceases to
amaze me! The finish is even prettier now. You can see images clearly
reflected on many surfaces like a mirror.

Running out now for a quick 50 miler "recovery" ride from yesterday's
century. Hope to beat the oncoming adverse weather?

Ed Gin is a dirty minded foul mouthed criminal. You most likely are too if
he is your friend. All you have to do is review what he has posted to this
newsgroup under various false names and false headings. But your "So What!"
says it all. It is not "a big deal about nothing" to steal someone else's
name. Fuck you and fuck Ed Gin too.

Jim McNaa has got the measure of Ed Gin and so do I. I consider him
little better than a criminal and if you defend his behavior than you are
little better than a criminal also. Some time spent in prison where you
could both be preyed upon by your peers would do you both a world of good.
Neither one of you belong in civil society.

If I were to post to BROL I assure you I would know how to do it and no one
would have the slightest objection to it. But I enjoy the freedom of Usenet
to say things a bit off the cuff. It is too bad that scoundrels like Ed Gin
and you ruin the group for everyone.

I believe Jim spells his name McNaa, not McNamera. Irish names are not
that difficult.

I would not be caught dead responding to Ed Gin, either by email or this
group. I gave him his chance long time ago and he flunked with flying
colors. He has proven himself a knave to Jim and me and to the entire
newsgroup. He not only has a foul mouth and a dirty mind like all those
Monkey Islanders, but he steals identities, uses false names and parrots
other's posts. He has no credibility with this group whatsoever and has
permanently earned the k of a criminal by his posts.

Although this entire post of Ed Gin's is nothing but a hoax, it nevertheless
goes to show the danger of kill filing. A lot of you seem to think if you
don't see and/or read something, that it doesn't exist. You couldn't be more
wrong. Once you post to a newsgroup and you come under fire, you need to
know what is being said about you.

Jim and I will continue to call a spade a spade - and that spade is the
criminal poster Ed Gin and no one else.

Readership,

Ed Gin tried not to pull the wool, but rather the entire sheep over
your eyes. His underlying mistake was not doing so expeditiously.
Understandably, most of us are wary of buying anything beyond the "buy
before" date. Ed would have had a better chance of selling his post
and having the readership buy it had it been issued before the, "sell
by" date, so to speak. You blew it again ...Ed.

nget,

As you implied ... friends don't "do" friends like that. The honorable
thing for such a "friend" to do would be to come forward and admit
their guilt in order to clear Ed Gin's name and if they don't, Ed
should feel no obligation to conceal the identity of the person who he
claims to have done him dirty. There will, however, be no disclosure
made from either source because they are one and the same, but that
should come as no revelation to anyone.

k,
You fit in with the slow Dolanites at aarb. How is that 400 watt gizmo
you need to ride that V-rex? You can drink a whole 12 pak of Schlitz malt
liquor when you let that bike do the pedaling.

What were the other debilitating addictions you had? Sounds
like you still have plenty here at arrb.

Johnny, there is only one Great here and that is me. Tom Sherman is a dwarf
and a midget and is anything but Great. He still believes Ed Gin is not who
Jim and I and everyone else on this newsgroup says he is - a criminal who
spews nothing but trash and garbage here on ARBR under forged names too
numerous to keep track of.

Nget is one of the few here on ARBR who has taken a stand against this
Chicago trash. The rest of you need to ask yourselves where you stand. You
can either hide like the cowardly Tom Sherman or you can show some guts like
Nget.

What characterizes the Chicago Trash? Nothing but a foul mouth. That is the
sum total of what they do. If they could, they would like to post their
porno graphics here too like they did on Monkey Island. They are nothing but
low lifes, but Ed Gin is nothing short of a criminal. He steals identities.
Al is merely his sidekick.

Hmmm... I wonder what "F.O." stands for, and whether or not saying

The comment was directed at a certain person posting on this thread who
made a ridiculous comment on the subject to this group about 4-1/2 years

Hi Tom,

We missed you at the party this year. What's been going on? Been out yet? I
hope you got a ride in today? If not, tomorrow morning is going to be good, at
least till noon.

Hi Ed,

Unfortunately, I have picked up the upper respiratory tract infection
that is a minor epidemic in my area, so no riding recently.

When I get back into decent shape, I will try to find time to come over
and "ride with the ladies".

Yo Ed Gin,
Call JimmyMac for some linseed oil for your trip.
You can have a linseed oil party with some California babes.
Oil em up bro and do the nasty

JimmyMac has cases of linseed oil. He will give you a deal

Fred,

I think Snoop Dog would be the ideal candidate for some of that lube.
His reputation with the recumbo babes are famous as is his "Girls Gone
Wild" videos. You should take some time off and head out west too?

I found some new lodging right on Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington
Beach. This would allow maximum riding time with minimal traffic
problems
utilizing the fine off road bike path networks.

Remember, everyday will incorporate a new destination.

Tom,

We had a great time at the party as usual. There were many new bikes to inspect and
test ride especially with the co-operative weather that evening. Food spread was
spectacular and approximately 45 enthusiasts attended and some even hung around till
nearly 3 AM! Plans were discussed regarding multiple ride events including, Hostell
Shoppe Rally, Door County annual outing, Ludington/Pentwater cycling week, and all
the various invitationals we attend. "Speed" interests centered around another world
record attempt by Byron Gremley at the newly repaved Northbrook velodrome.

The previous owner of your Sunset has only ridden twice this year which should allow
you to "see her in your rear view mirror," your next visit. Chris has modified his
Sunset in an interesting fashion. The objective was to change the double chain system
to a single design. Using the existing seat mount bolt, he managed to mount a RANS
large idler for the power side chain. This allowed the removal of multiple pulleys
and shortened the chain considerably. In addition to this, Steve Delaire made a new
monoblade 406 ISO fork replacement allowing multiple tire choices. Chris hopes to
find new efficientcy along with a better ride.

My season is off to a great start as usual with a wonderful mega mileage CA trip.
Thank goodness for a friend rying soon as it gives me a reason to head west once
more. I hear snow and Winter will soon return to the Midwest, just in time for me to
get in a few more thousand miles in the Sunshine State. Amazingly I've managed to
book $79 nonstop flights for the past 3 years with SW Airlines on the net. The best
thing is they allow no cost changes to your return leg as long as the seat class is
available. My standing invitation is open to friends to accompany me on my trips.

I stay at a suite hotel right on the bike path just a short half hour ride from
Newport/Huntington Beach. IMO some of the most spectacular Ocean vista await you.
The eye candy is phenomenal as priily the "trophy wives" are training in numbers
this time of year jogging the bikepaths along the mega million dollars strands in
Newport/Manhattan/Hermosa/Redondo beaches. Going inland allow convenient access to
the Inland Empire and some peaceful soul seaching jaunts amongst desert cacti and
spectacular vistas. We've ridden from the Hotel southbound along to Coast via San
Juan Capistrano through Oceanside into San Diego County stopping in Solana Beach in
time take the Amtrak Surfrider Train back enjoying the sunset viewed from the upper
deck of the observation coach.

Hey Tom,

You got that right, Delaire's bikes are well built. My choice for the Tiger years ago was
it's simplicity in frame design, stiffness, and very compact size. As a traveling bike
to fit inside of rental vehicles, it meets the need perfectly. It fits inside of compact
4 door's easily behind the driver and overlapping the passenger seat set at a full reclined
position.

Regarding toughness, this Tiger is one of the few bikes I have not broken. With the
upcoming Winter weather returning to Chicago, I'm looking forward to some Sunshine State
cruising..........

Tom, scrape up a couple hundred dollars and take a few days off, mid 60's and spectacular
vista's await you. No charge for lodging and local transportation, just email me for my
upcoming itineary.

What the heck is a Monkey Missle. Never mind ... don't even go there
;^). You fell for it ... hook line and sinker. The only one who needs
to apologize here is Ed Gin. Granted we have what appears to be a
genuine post from Ed for a change, but that's about it. I'll grant you
this much. This is a suspiciously uncharacteristic civil response,
carefully crafted with the specific intent to deceive the readership.
Ed would have you believe that he couldn't possibly be the same nasty
person who posted all the vitriolic, vulgar rhetoric. Do I buy it?
Not for a minute. I applaud Ed's clever efforts to defend himself, but
I've experienced this very same pretense of disingenuous sincerity
before. What else would you expect the man to do? You have to ask
yourself ... just why did it take so long for Ed to come forward to
defend himself if he was wrongly accused? Was it because he finally
realized that he was backed into a proverbial corner when his forged
email headers were analyzed and traced and he was threatened with a
loss of account privileges for violating his Usenet newsgroup proxy
server's acceptable use policy (or "C" ... both of the above)? Think
about it. Ed Gin had no option left but to claim that he too was a
victim of an imposter who impersonated him. This is little more than a
calculated, cunning attempt to wiggle off the hook. Did I get this
right? Ed was a victim of what several others here have experienced?
Does Ed Gin actually expect the readership to believe that? Don't be
confused. Ed Gin is the perpetrator not the victim here. I've gotta
give it to you though Ed, when it comes to bullshit, this has to be one
of your finer efforts. I'm impressed, but you're not going to get out
from under quite that easily. By the way, I consider it an honor to be
in your personal kill file.

Perhaps you should have pointed out that like Ed Dolan and myself, you
too have now become a vicitim of an imposter who is impersonating you
The readership need only view the entire header (show options > Show

turn 'em in to newsfeeds.com like I advised in a previous post.

Monkey Missile,

What a spectacular day for riding! Mid upper 40's and bright sunshine in
Feb. for Chicago is just spectacular. My buddies and I took off for the
Wisconsin border and hammered a out a pleasurable century. The light SW
winds assisted the outbound leg and lessened to be not noticed on the
return. A key to repetitive long distance rides in Winter is not to take off
for months at a time and getting out of shape. All the year round riders
finished in good fashion and the ones off the bike did NOT complete the
distance.

Monkey Missile, should you care to ride with us, there are a handful of us
riding 3-5 days per week throughout the Winter. Be prepared for snow and
adverse conditions though, we DO ride wedgies as they do have their place at
times. Just email me privately for specifics. Several of us are retired
with very flexible schedules.

Regarding your apology requests, none needed as far as I'm concerned. The
internet has a way of forgetting crap posted with time.
