Does anyone from the UK have addresses of steel tube suppliers who process
small orders?

Thanks

McKay's in Cambridge have a good walk-in service. For generic materials
anyway, no use asking for 531. I'm pretty sure that Aircraft Spruce will
ship to the UK, their catalog(ue) is a great read too.

Checking in home-built aircraft circles should pay off, as will
cultivating any genuine frame-builder you can find, although you might
want tube sizes that don't occur in the upright world. Or, take the easy
way out and buy a Windcheetah kit!

Aircraft Spruce certainly used to ship here; I remember Jonathan Woolrich
making use of their catalogue a Several of years ago. Consulting the list
of suppliers in the back of "So You Want To Build An HPV?[1]" might be an
option too </shameless_plug >

1 - I am at the Nut Mines and my copy isn't and and I think there's none
left in stock anyway, and we need to get the New! IMPROVED!! Revised Edition
off to the printers before I go on my holibobs, but it's a thought...

Thanks for this, it sent me off in a different direction and I somehow
arrived at this

http://www.framebuilding.com/index.htm

Which is not a great distance away and looks very promising. I have
another welding lesson next week so I might even manage to join a couple of
tubes together. Apparently I will be making a box!

Happy Days
