Subject: 8 speed Shimano to Campy 10 for 'cross
It's that time of year again. Putting together a new cross bike based
on Centaur 10 (Centaur brifters and derailleurs, FSA crank). I have a
basement full of wheels among them some nice handbuilts on old Dura
Ace and Ultegra 8 speed hubs. Can I just slap on an American Classic
10 speed Shimano to Campy cassette and go or would I have to re-dish
these wheels for this to work ? Any other ideas ?

TIA..........Lou D'Amelio

Better than the American Classic 10s conversion cassette, in my
experience.

Put on a shimano 9s cogset and chain, adjust RD and go ride...More
space between cogs, 9s vs 10s is a good thing. shimano 9s cogsets work
very well with Campag 10s shifters and Rders.

Shimano 8 hubs are also 9 hubs are also OK with AmClass Ten cassette. Go
ahead.

(unless any are 'first year' Dura Ace Eight' from 19 what? 87?)
