A neighbor has a fairly new CF frame and some LBS salesperson somewhere told her that she has to use plastic bottle cages on the frame. It's an issue 'cause the plastic cage that she has is already broken. Part of the issue causing the cracked cage MIGHT be that it's a pretty small frame and the water bottle has to go in/come out and a pretty extreme angle. Frame is no more than 6 months old, but has gotten a fair amount of use. True or false claim by the salesperson? Kevin -- FWIW. The reply to address is good, but I don't check it unless I am expecting something. SOOOO, don't use it if you expect a reply anytime soon.

Maybe a 'swing-cage' would help if it is merely short of space. Surely most CF frames use AL or stainless cages, some cages are CF but not all by any means. -- Andrew Muzi www.yellowjersey.org Open every day since 1 April, 1971

Heck, I'm not even sure that the salesperson really said 'has to' or if it was the spin that my neighbor put on whatever it was that was said. In any case, she remembers 'has to' so that's what was said....even if that wasn't what was said. Know what I mean? I'll suggest a swing or side entry cage. -- FWIW. If someone ACTUALLY said that, then they are sadly misinformed.
