If those really are carbon teeth on the chain ring, then I may have to admit defeat. I can find wooden bicycles with wooden handlebars and frames and rims and even spokes from the 1890's, but I'm pessimistic about finding wooden cranks, much less chain rings. Cheers, Carl Fogel

Since carbon doesn't wear well when rubbed on by steel(like in the chain), probably more for the 'show' than the 'go'. I am sure they don't do anything better than aluminum, like shift, wear, etc...but they sure are expensive!!
