Subject: Ceramic bearings in steel races - wear problems ?
Time for repack on my '06 Eurus hubs and thinking about ceramic
bearings. (Please, no flames - I'm not expecting performance miracles
and my kids won't starve.) These are loose balls. Any problems with
the disparate hardness of ceramic bearings and steel races vis a vis
wear ? I'm thinking not since hybrid cartridge bearings are made this
way, but I'm not sure. Any input appreciated.

no more than any hybrid bearing. it mildly affects the fatigue life of
the race, but that can be outweighed by the benefits.
