What do you have in these "photoswest" URL's that goes with the
previous picture? All the "photoswest" ones take forever to give only
an error message. What am I missing?

Dear Jobst,
The short URL will show (with luck) the photo with no details.
The long URL will show (with considerably more luck) a thumbnail of
the photo with the historic details.
I just tried the pair above. The raw photo came up fine, but the
longer URL fails, even though it worked a few minutes ago.
Unfortunately, the Denver Museum site is frustratingly erratic.

I suspect that all the long URLs to the thumbnail with the photo
details (which were tested before posting) will fail because they're
some kind of idiotic search-record link that expires at the site.
The short links still seem to work. You can still get to the details
by copying the call number at the bottom of the picture, clicking on
the search, and doing a call-number search, but whatever link you get
to the thumbnail-and-detail page will expire.
Naturally, I saved all the expiring links in my own favorites, and
have to clean them out now.
