Subject: Difference between Powertap SL and Powertap 7005p
|
Hello, I was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between the Powertap SL and the Powertap 7005p. I've found the 7005p at Performance for a cheaper price than the SL but I wanted to know what the difference is between the two systems. Thanks.

Correction: the 7005p is the old Cycleops designation for the complete PowerTap Pro system built into an Open Pro wheel. The Cycleops website no longer shows a PowerTap Pro wheel system -- they now appear to show only hubs. The new Pro hub is distinguishable from the old Pro hub by its black (rather than yellow) cover, and I believe that the new model has the upgraded bearing.

The SL and Pro systems use the same computer head and harness. The SL is lighter and has better bearings (though I think the Pro is supposed to get, or maybe just got, the new bearings, too). There's also a SL 2.4, which is wireless.
