I got a new bike with a set of Campy Eurus wheels today. I pulled out of the driveway and instantly flatted. When I pulled the tire off I noticed that there is no rim strip. Is this normally how they are shipped? I realize that the spokes are not accessable this way, but there are grooves and the area around the valve is sharp. --- cs

Then put a piece of tape over the hole just for extra measure.

And yes, you do not need a rim strip. I'm using Mich. ProRace2's and Mich. Latex tubes with them. R.

It should have cloth tape or some other method of covering the holes not elastic rim tape it is no good for this sort of rim. Cheers Joel -- Human Powered Cycles
