Hi,

I'm looking for a clear description of x-2 lacing. Where do I
start? anyone have any good
recipes?

Ah, good point. I used Schraner's method from his book. I found I
had
trouble lacing the second side, though. I had to bend spokes and had
to
be very careful to avoid scratching the rim. I don't like doing it
that way.

Not knowing what method you use to insert spokes into the hub or the
order in which you engage them in the rim, that is not simple. I
suggest you look at the spokeing method outlined in "the Bicycle
Wheel" where a method is described that is independent of cross
pattern and number of spokes.

instead of counting 6 hub holes between each spoke pair, count 4. then
lace as normal.

Have you laced a 3x wheel before? It's just like that, only you skip
the middle cross. First cross is with the neighboring spoke, second
goes under the one it's crossing, then to the spoke-hole. So instead
of over-over-under, it's just over-under.
